Hey Everyone! Our friends at Greenshoot Productions are holding some LGBT drama workshops this autumn! Make your voices heard in the creation of a brand new play about the history of civil rights in Northern Ireland. Use the contacts below to get involved!

CREATIVELY CONNECTING CIVIL RIGHTS September 2017.
This is an 8 week drama project exploring what Civil rights means to you. Individuals will acquire skills in performance techniques and devising while also being encouraged to articulate and embody personal experience and struggles about civil rights. This process will culminate in a short performance to an invited audience. No prior experience of drama is necessary. The group will be meeting on Thursday evenings 7-9pm.
Individuals will have a further opportunity in October 2017- March 2018 to undertake a further extensive engagement and training, becoming an integrated cast member in a new play about civil rights ‘We’ll walk Hand in Hand’ by Martin Lynch. We are pleased to announce that the first of our five free Stanislavski acting classes will be run by Tom Finlay at the Barracks tomorrow, Wednesday the 22nd of June, 7-9 pm. This programme was requested by Belfast Tempest participants, but is open to all.
The Barracks is Theatre of Pluck's home base, 8-10 Exchange Place, in the Cathedral Quarter, just off Donegal Street.

Our 10 For 10 : Making it Q***r writer/performers workshop last week at The Barracks was really great. Lots of amazing q***r work being developed by both first time writers and experienced writers, with excellent support from dramaturg Hanna Slattne from Tinderbox Theatre Company. Outburst 10 for 10: Making It Q***r with TINDERBOX
Outburst has supported the development of q***r performance in Northern Ireland for ten years and some brilliant local talent has emerged over that time.
To celebrate our 10th birthday, we want to encourage the next wave of Q***r Performers to take a chance, play a little and see what happens...

Outburst is delighted to partner with Tinderbox to launch their new cutting edge State Of The Arts initiative; a dramaturg-led programme, developing artists and their ideas. We're inviting 10 emerging LGBTQI writers/performers/theatre makers to take your ideas out of your bedrooms and living rooms and into The Barracks, with professional support to help you make your idea a reality.

Who it's for:
10 for 10 is for any individual writer/performer over 18, working at any level, who already has a work in progress or a strong idea for a performance or theatre piece of any length. We particularly encourage those who are creating work for the first time but all are welcome. It's not a space for coming up with ideas but for developing and shaping something you've been working on, so you must already have work to bring with you by the 29th of May.

What's on offer:
1. A group workshop with Tinderbox to explore how you can focus shape your idea. This will take place 1-5pm on Sun 29th May. Preference on the programme will be given to those who can attend on this day.
2. A day each in The Barracks q***r theatre space to get a feel for working your idea in a performance venue, with a one-on-one mentoring session with the Tinderbox dramaturg Hanna Slattne.
(dates can be arranged to suit individual schedules and availability)

How to take part:
Just send us a paragraph about your idea or work (no more than 300 words) and tell us a little about your background in relation to performance and writing, if any.
Feel free to send script or extracts but it's not essential.
