Stage 9/17 and the biggest race of the lot as Dan was one of 5000 runners to take on the York 10k yesterday morning, wearing the East Lancs badge with pride in White Rose country and finishing comfortably inside the top 10% with a new 43.11 PB to boot!

Please dig deep and let’s try and get up to that £2026 target in aid of the Masonic Charitable Foundation! Next weekend sees a return to Lancashire for the Ribble Valley 10k!

Dan completed the longest and toughest leg of the challenge last night, hiking the 40km Yorkshire 3 Peaks route through the night with a group of friends, with some spectacular photos to show for it!

Now with over half of the challenge distance completed it’s another trip to Yorkshire next week for the York 10k on Sunday! Almost 80% of the £2026 fundraising target for the Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire Festival 2026 in aid of the Masonic Charitable Foundation has been raised so please dig deep and let’s try and smash that target before the next stage!

Who’d have thought a summer running challenge would be so soggy! Dan battled the elements at the Lancaster 10k last night to secure P15 with another sub-45 time and complete stage 7 of his 202.6km Challenge!

He’s now 75% of the way towards his £2026 fundraising target for the Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire Festival 2026 in aid of the Masonic Charitable Foundation.

Stage 8 comes this Sunday with the first of two hiking stages in the challenge, the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, but through the night!

A wet and windy Promenade was the venue on Sunday for stage 6 of Dan’s 202.6km Challenge at the Blackpool 10k. A very quick field in tough conditions on the coast but a 34/350 place finish and a sub-45 time was enough to secure a very unique medal made from an old vinyl record!

A soggy Heaton Park and the Manchester 10k was the venue for stage 5 of Dan Gaunt’s 202.6km Challenge this morning!

Cheered on by Julie Ward and the Rock Choir, he smashed his PB by over 3 mins and finished 6th out of 900 entrants!

A trip outside the province this morning for stage 3 of Dan’s 202.6km challenge, travelling down to Northwich for their inaugural 10k race. With nearly 1000 runners it was a huge event with an undulating course, and Dan managed a great time of 47.47 so just missing a PB!

Well that was BRUTAL. Our chairman Dan Gaunt completed stage 2/17 of his 202.6km challenge at this mornings’ Darwen 10k, and for anyone that knows Darwen they’ll know running from the centre up to Darwen Tower and back TWICE is utter madness, with 700+ feet of elevation on each lap.

Dan finished 5th in the open men’s category and 12th overall, and has now raised £760 towards his £2026 goal for the Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire Festival Appeal in support of the Masonic Charitable Foundation.

A reminder of two great evenings on at the Hall this weekend!

First our bingo night TOMORROW from 7pm, £5 for 6 games with some great prizes to be won and a laugh to be had by all!

After that on Sunday night we have the first of England’s Euro games on their way to lifting the trophy next month. Bar open from 7pm, kick off at 8pm on our new big screen!

Our Chairman Dan Gaunt is running and hiking a total of 202.6km for the Provincial Grand Lodge of East Lancashire Festival 2026 in aid of the Masonic Charitable Foundation!

He’ll complete 17 stages across the province and beyond starting with the Blackburn 10k this Wednesday, including hiking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks overnight and a trek through the Moroccan desert, and finishing by running the 13 mile “Walk the Province” route on 29 September!
