Since 2019, Beyond Brontës has supported over 250 trainees, many of whom have gone on to work on high profile screen productions including Bridgerton, The Witcher, Gentleman Jack and Mission Impossible 7, and at broadcasters including Channel 4 and ITV.

Delivered by Screen Yorkshire, Beyond Brontës is a Skills Connect course, funded by Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

The weekend was a different beast than our usual museum takeover, but YGF in the Broadway was a joy to deliver thanks to our wonderful exhibitors and Impact Gamers.

It also wouldn't have been possible without tech from Pudsey Computers who have been really generous once again in providing us kit and activities.

And thanks to any of you who came down to see us!

It was particularly inspiring to host an event during the BAFTA Games nominations as many of our speakers were finding out they (or their game) were nominated in real time!

We'll be rooting for Sam, Baldur's Gate 3, Viewfinder, and Disney Illusion Island (hope we haven't missed any) in April 🤞

Our Game Talks were absolutely fantastic this year thanks to our speakers and workshop leaders who provided valuable insights into all manner of topics in game dev.

These sessions were some of the most enjoyable we've ever had and we're really thankful that talented creators made the journey up to Bradford for us and our visitors!

The countdown is on for the Yorkshire Games Festival 2024.

This year the event is taking place across Bradford from 7th-10 March while the Science and Media Museum continues to work hard on the transformation of the Museum itself. See more info below:

The Yorkshire Games Festival is a five-day extravaganza celebrating games culture, design and production, with special guests, workshops, master classes, and a fun-packed weekend for gamers of all ages.

More than 17% of the UK games industry is based in the North of England. The festival, launched in 2016, is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the great games created here and welcome guests from across the UK and overseas.
