What we witnessed during the Olympics prime time viewing was a blatant assault on our values. It was not just an error in judgment; it was a deliberate act. They knew exactly what they were doing and the outcome they sought.

This was the time when our children, grandchildren, and young adults were eagerly awaiting a celebration of inclusivity and excitement leading up to the Olympic Games. Instead, we were subjected to a display of blasphemy, nudity, and explicit sexual acts! This is not entertainment; it’s an affront to our beliefs, and it was not inclusive!

Would they dare to mock Islam in the same way? Absolutely not. Christians, however, have once again been targeted. These shameless, anti-Christian acts cannot go unchallenged.

We must make our voices heard in every sphere of life. Silence is not an option. Take action now and express your outrage.

Apology follows anger among Catholics and other groups at opening ceremony segment that resembled biblical scene

Last night’s mockery of the Last Supper was shocking and insulting to Christian people around the world who watched the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

The war on our faith and traditional values knows no bounds today. But we know that truth and virtue will always prevail. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)

We're proud to announce that the Revd Dr Catherine Okoronkwo has been appointed by His Majesty the King as Residentiary Canon and Steward of St Paul's Cathedral. The Revd Dr Catherine Okoronkwo commented: "Following a blessed ministry at St Barnabas and All Saints Church (Swindon) and in the wider Diocese of Bristol, I am absolutely delighted at the privilege of joining in what God is doing at St Paul’s Cathedral at this exciting juncture of its story."

The Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, Bishop of Bristol and the Rt Revd Neil Warwick, Bishop of Swindon said: "We are delighted that Cathy is moving to St Paul’s Cathedral to be the next Canon Steward. We will miss her greatly here in the Diocese of Bristol...Further, she has positively challenged and shaped perspectives and practice in the Diocese since she's been appointed to the position of Bishop’s Advisor on Racial Justice."
