We are on the corner of Broad Street, Corn Street, High Street and Wine Street in the old City of Bristol. We are the only church in the old City of Bristol to hold regular services. We are a traditional church and our services, with very few exceptions, accord to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. Our Bible readings are exclusively from the Authorised Version (King James Bible). We enjoy a very high

standard of preaching from our visiting clergy. Our Sunday services are sung, except in the school summer holidays by a choir of men and boys, led by our Director of Music, Jonathan Price. We have a Choral Eucharist on Sunday at 11am and Sung Evensong with an anthem and sermon at 6.30pm. If there is a fifth Sunday in the month the morning service is a Sung Matins service with Anthem and Sermon. At 1.05pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays we have a Holy Communion Service. We have regular concerts and recitals, often on a Wednesday lunch time which are well attended and we will keep you posted about these events. If you are a person who is put off church because of the modern words and long for the good old days when churches used the Book of Common Prayer we are probably just the right church for you are looked forward to welcoming you!

Last Saturday Hugh attended the AGM of the Prayer Book Society. There were 37 new churches who have become corporate members of the PBS in the last year taking the total to over 200. We had a very interesting lecture about +Edward King from Bishop Michael Marshall who has written a definitive book about him. The day finished off with Choral Evensong. St Giles-in-the-Fields were very gracious hosts for the day.

Sunday evening Harvest Festival Eucharist celebrated by the Revd. Dr Victor Barley. We have spent so many years without a parish priest and we are so grateful to Victor for all he does to make our church able to offer at least three services a week.

Tonight +Paul Oswestry, our Provincial Episcopal Visitor, was with us to confirm James Mitchell. James is a resident of Bath but so loves the Book of Common Prayer he has been a faithful member of our congregation for quite some time. It was lovely to welcome so many of his friends and family to our wonderful Georgian church in the heart of Bristol.

Tonight, as has happened on almost every Sunday Evening since 1792, Evensong was sung, this week led by The Revd. Dr. Victor Barley. If you appreciated the traditional words at the Coronation yesterday or were moved by the funeral of Her Late Majesty, you ought to visit us, the only church in Bristol which uses the Prayer Book of 1662 exclusively.
