Tuesday Musings - A long read🤓 I had a conversation recently about being humble...and almost cloaking ones wins for the sake of others..here are my thoughts....🤔💭 Being humble does not necessarily dumb down the work and talent of a hard-working face painter, but it can be perceived that way in certain contexts. 1. **Understatement of Achievements**: Humble individuals often downplay their accomplishments and skills. This can lead others to underestimate the amount of effort and talent involved in their work. For a face painter, this might mean not highlighting the intricate techniques, the hours of practice, or the creativity required for their art. 2. **Lack of Self-Promotion**: Humility can result in less self-promotion. In a competitive field like face painting, where visibility is crucial, not showcasing one’s best work or not speaking about one’s successes can lead to fewer opportunities and less recognition. 3. **Misinterpretation by Others**: People may misinterpret humility as a lack of confidence or competence. If a face painter consistently attributes their success to luck or external factors, clients and peers might not fully appreciate their hard work and talent. 4. **Cultural Perceptions**: In some cultures or industries, humility is highly valued, but in others, it might be seen as a lack of ambition. This can affect how a face painter’s skills and efforts are perceived and rewarded. It’s important for individuals to strike a balance between humility and recognition. Acknowledging one’s hard work and talent doesn’t have to come at the expense of humility; it’s about finding a way to communicate the value of one’s work effectively while remaining grounded. I say all this to say.....DON'T MAKE YOURSELF SMALL FOR ANYONE .....CELEBRATE YOUR WINS...noone knows the SACRIFICES you've made or the journey you've travelled to get to where you are.
