My mission is to bring you a taste of Japanese cuisine as you would enjoy it as someone living in Japan rather than just visiting. All you see here are Homemade Artisan dishes made by Miniyaki's to traditional Japanese recipes, using locally sourced produce, therein supporting local farmers and bringing you better tasting food! Osaka in Japan, I wanted to show that there is more to Japanese cuisine than 'Sushi'. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Sushi, but it seems to be the only thing that many people here associate with Japan. So I decided I wanted to do something to bring the Japan I knew and loved to the U.K. and show you all that it's not all about raw fish! I was very lucky to call Osaka my Japanese hometown. It is a vibrant, friendly city and the true 'foodie' hub of Japan. They even have a street called 'Kuidori' which literally means 'stuff your face street'!! Alot of street food comes from Osaka such as Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, Kushikatsu etc. These dishes have been my inspiration and Okonomiyaki was my founding dish and still our signature dish now. The Japanese love to have home cooking parties and I had many great foodie teachers! With Miniyaki's what you eat will be a real taste of Japanese soul food that you will find in little back street alleys, train station street food vendors and outdoor festivals. But of course also your Japanese Mama's home stylee dishes, Japanese Bakery goods (Japanese Bakeries are a treat you really must experience) and hot and cold snacks the average Japanese person might pick up on the way to work or school from their local convenience store! Do I do Sushi? I deliberately don't do sushi as that seems to be the go to expectation when you mention Japan. I adore sushi but it's just not what Miniyaki's is about! So, when you see us out and about come and eat like a local with Miniyaki's - Japanese Soul Food. It's great Pint Food!!

Friday 25th - Putley Village Community's Village Hall. 5 - 8pm
Saturday 26th - Hive Mind Mead & Brew Co 5.30 - 8.30pm
Sunday 27th - EAT STREET REPEAT's frightful Feast at Stourport Civic Centre. 12 - 7pm.
After this fun weekend we will be slowing down and concentrating on some festive events to finish off our year!

Very much looking forward to our 1st pop up at The White Horse Inn Soudley tonight. Serving from 5 to 8pm. Eat in our takeaway cartons available.
As an Autumn special we are bringing out oodles of noodles to warm your cockles tonight in a slight change to the previously advertised menu.
Prices are: Rice balls - £6, burger and sweetcorn rice bowls - £10, All other rice bowls £11, Noodles £12 with option of adding chicken katsu for extra £3, see poster. x

Our Story

My name’s Emelia, (also known as Emma) I lived in Japan for 10 years, speak Japanese fluently and had alot of Japanese foodie teachers.

My mission is to bring you authentic Japanese Street & festival dishes such as Okonomiyaki , donburi rice bowls, gyoza dumplings, steamed buns etx. In Japan these foods are affectionally called 'soul food'. Everyday foods you will find on a street food stand, convenience store, festival, and popular ‘mama’ home stylee dishes. I don't do 'fusion'. I try to keep my Japanese food as authentic as possible, from what I remember from my time in Japan. What you eat will be a real taste of Japanese soul food.

We have a very cute little caterpod trailer, that was designed with outdoor festivals and weddings alike. We are sure we will brighten up any event. We are available for basically any outdoor events!

We are based in Herefordshire on the Border of South Wales. U.K. We cover Herefordshire & Monmouthshire and surrounding areas. Our speciality is Okonomiyaki. Popular in Osaka, where I lived, and affectionately called Osaka Soul Food. 'Okonomi' = to your taste & 'Yaki' = cooked. These are incredibly moorish savoury pancakes which, as the name suggests, can be built with a variety of fillings and topping to suit your taste. A bit like a Pizza. Try a Miniyaki today!
