By popular demand, starting from tonight, our weekly Tuesday night sessions at the Military Arms will begin at 8pm.

Because of the World Cup there will be no singaround at the Military Arms in Sandbach next Tuesday 29th November. Tina, the landlady, expects the pub to be packed with football fans for the England v Wales game. We hope to be back on Tuesday 6th December.

Last Tuesday, Bob Stamp and friends put on a great show to remember one of our regular musicians Keith Duffield. Our special guests for the night were our long time favourites The Pelican Babies who also played a memorable set. The night was also supported by Bob Goodwin and, behind the scenes, some excellent organisation (and food) by Brian and Stella. Thanks to everyone who helped to make the evening such a success in remembering Keith.

During her nursing degree, Keith's daughter, Karly, volunteered at an orphanage in Arusha Tanzania for which, in recent years, Keith and his family have continued to raise much needed funds. A collection was held on the night to support their fundraising to build a school.

On Tuesday 25th October, Sandbach Folk Club will be holding a special night to remember Keith Duffield who sadly died earlier this year. Keith was a fine performer and staunch supporter of the club for many years. The event will be at St Mary’s Church Hall in Sandbach and will start at 8.45pm. There is no bar so it will be bring your own beer or wine. However, we will be able to provide tea and coffee from the kitchen.

Don Haines calls Sandbach folk club a Winstitution. Terrific comradeship and music. Nice to see so many familiar and new faces with Dave Clarke and Andy Lebetter coming, down from Stockport and, Macc.
Glad I turned down in the afternoon Leighton's intention to admit me due to my condition.
I need time to arrange my affairs and red cross parcels to avoid starvation. I want to be in the Military next Tuesday.

Andy Lebb and Dave Clark get Sandbach Folk Club in their new venue at the Military Arms off to a cracking start. A great turnout of old regular singers and friends made the evening feel like old times. Excellent music all round and a good place to be on a Tuesday night!

It's been a while, but Sandbach Folk Club will be returning with a series of weekly singer's nights at the Military Arms starting on Tuesday 27 September. In due course, depending on numbers, we would hope to reintroduce some guest nights.
