Due to a reduction of hours by one of our longest serving team members, Pete’s Bun Shop are seeking to recruit an ADDITIONAL Sales Assistant / Driver to join the team based in Yeovil.

The role is a full time, permanent position working 30+ hours per week. More hours are available at weekends.

Hours are Mon- Friday 8.00am -2.30pm

1 in 4 Saturdays 9 - 12

The Individual suited to the role must have;

Good Sense of Humour

Ability to Learn and Develop

Full Clean Driving License & Confident Driver

Pride in their Work

Good Presentation

Efficient and Timely

What you can expect from this role as our Sales Assistant / Driver

As a Sales Assistant you will work alongside the Kitchen/Driver team, collaboratively supporting the Team, in delivering a range of Food & Drink to Yeovil & the surrounding areas, whilst consistently aiming for profitability. A positive and motivated approach will be key when delivery to the Business’s we have worked hard to maintain custom, driving innovative yet effective sales for our products in a timely manner. You will have sole responsibility for the van round, picking drops & setting daily routes to suit the business needs. You will spend 80% of your day riding solo, but you must be able to work as a team when at base camp.

That are controversial to other cafes & takeaways:

1. We don’t put anything in your food that you didn’t ask for. We won’t add salad, pickle or ketchup to your baguette if you didn’t ask us to.

2. We don’t have a parking charge. Want to stay & do some work or charity shop? Feel free, our prices are low and you don’t have to pay to park to visit us.

3. Expect you to pay by card. We have a cash is king motto & welcome it whenever possible. We do have a minimum spend on our card machines of £3 as our supplier fees outweigh most profit for items such as bottled drinks or crisps if that is all you are buying.

4. We don’t serve drinks in glasses. Nor do we charge the price for the privilege. We have canned or bottled refrigerated drinks at a suitable price for you to enjoy during your visit.

5. We don’t take forever to make your lunch nor do we let queues build. We serve the old fashioned way and we keep the line moving and your food comes out fast. Not sure what you’d like yet? No problem, we’ll carry on serving or prepping for the next day until you’re ready to go.

6. Buy in our cakes. We make 95% of our delicious cakes in our tiny unit. We get cleared out most days and the fridge is restocked the following morning.

7. Put lids or sugar in hot drinks. We think the amount of sugar in your coffee or how strong your tea is personal. We leave that to you. We do however make a fabulous affordable proper coffee to drink in or takeaway. We also offer coffee cards, buy 10 get 1 free. 🆓

8. Offer small or large hot drinks. We have one size, regular. We have semi skimmed or oat milk. We have the most popular options as we are very limited for storage space in our tiny unit. We keep it simple.

9. Only have a small cafe and takeaway business. We also have a Food Delivery side of the business which all runs out of the same unit. Our team start at 4am to get the trucks out and delivering with fresh breakfast and lunch options on board.

10. Only employ family. We have a fabulous team of 13 people working in our unit and what a great team we have 🙌🏻

11. Not make mistakes! We are only human. Sometimes we make mistakes. We appreciate being treated as such 🙌🏻
