The Music Department at St Patrick's College
is a centre of musical activity in North Dublin, running regular free concerts and workshops, featuring performances from internationally acclaimed professional musicians as well as recitals from our student ensembles and performers. In addition to our Artists-In-Residence 2012-2015, the virtuosic Fidelio Trio, performers at St. Patrick's have included
William Dowdall, Cora Venus Lunny, Colman Pearce, Martin Johnson, Virginia Kerr, John Feely, Colm 'Stride' O'Brien, Elizabeth Hilliard and David Bremner, Aylish Kerrigan & Dearbhla Collins, Benjamin Dwyer, Anna Fliegerova and Choice Music nominees We Cut Corners. Highlights of our programming have included the 2013 & 2014 Winter Chamber Music Festivals and the 2014 performance of John Cage's Musicircus to mark his centenary. Composers who have visited the Department and attended performances of their work here include Judith Weir, Graham Fitkin, Joe Cutler, Gerald Barry, Linda Buckley, Raymond Deane, Benedict Schlepper-Connoly, Piers Halliwell, Ronan Guilfoyle and Houston Dunleavy, as well as composers on staff John Buckley and Rhona Clarke.
