Saturday April 20, we're cruising the Rivera Maya to the rhythmic sounds of DJ JAKO. Playing the Reggae and Afro Caribbean classics mixed with some Soulful R&B and sprinkled with a bit of dirty south ratchetness. He's covering all the bases!! The drinks will be flowing, the blunts will be passing, and the vibes will be vibing!! We'll be having lunch at at one of the well known beachclubs on Isla Mujeres!! Yes!! There will also be food on board just in cause the munchies kick in. And ...cause that's just how we roll!! Party favors, gift bags, great smoke, great music, great food, great drinks, and great company! Transportation, port fees AND taxes are already included!! We pull out of Playa at 12:30. Listen....Once we get on that boat, ONLY talk to me in smoke signals cause.... that's the kinda time we on! 😂😂😂😂

We were so busy on Thanksgiving, we didn't get the chance to have, what I would call a proper Thanksgiving dinner.
From getting tasty dessert orders out, to family visiting for the holidays, vehicle at the mechanics, tv went out, house flooding.... not once but twice... we just didn't have the strength it took to cook a kernel of corn😂

Living here Playa is rewarding on so many levels. Fresh fruit and seafood at your fingertips, lots of sun, friendly people and a great community. However cooking here can be quite challenging at times.
I've been craving a KFC bowl for a couple of weeks. IYKYK right! So anyway, that's not offered here. So we made our own..kinda sorta, but with our "BlockParty"extra-ness.
We used thick smooth whipped potatoes, savory whole kernel corn, chunks of juicy crispy fried chicken breast, creamy homemade mac and cheese, and delicious and succulent green beans. Topped off with a rich sawmill gravy and sprinkled with cheddar cheese!
These were definitely a hit!! Thank you to all our great group of friends/testers that came out. It's a hard job, but somebody has to do it!! 🥰🥰

One thing you're going to do well in our presence is eat!! We're sorta spur of the moment.... a bit unscripted, if you will, when it comes to what we're eating each day. We just wake up and kinda wing it! 😄On this day, I was feeling brunch-y, so we had Salmon Bites and Grits. Did I mention how creamy and cheesy these grits are? 🫣 They were perfect!!
