I LITERALLY CANNOT!
I cannot read one more post like this without addressing it…

I am not the first to say or request this,
nor will I be the last until we change the norm…
but can we PLEASE STOP using the terms:: 
‘REASONABLY PRICED’ 
‘AFFORDABLE’
’WON’T BREAK the BANK’
or the kicker… ‘CHEAP’
when requesting vendor referrals + suggestions.
[admins:: this primarily lands on you to stop allowing it]

THESE ARE RELATIVE TERMS!
what is affordable to you, may not be to the next person.
your budget is yours and yours alone.
and no judgment will be cast upon you for having one.
In fact, I applaud you for knowing what your parameters are!
This is not about the AMOUNT of money you are willing to spend.
It is about the initial way you’re approaching the year-long relationship you’re about to have with said professional.

To ask for ‘a cheap’ anything is insulting.
To ask for a ‘reasonably priced’ whatever… is lazy and offensive.

While these terms may not seem like anything to you,
the requester of our talents…
 they mean quite a lot to us,
the professionals you’re seeking to hire.
without meaning to, and before you even meet a single one of us… 
you have already diminished us [and our businesses] worth.

WORDS MATTER.
so please. for the love of all things sacred…
use more concise and thoughtful language!!

“looking for a DJ under $1500”
“ISO a photog that fits my $4000 budget”
whatever the number may be.
[side note:: please add your date + location with your request]

be honest. be transparent. be forthright.
and you will get that same respect and quality in return.
not to mention...
you will get ACCURATE + COMPATIBLE SUGGESTIONS!
not dozens of irrelevant recommendations + referrals
[that you could have just found by typing your request into google ]

This may be a bit controversial…
[and that’s fine. I tend to live in the space of unpopular opinion]
but any professional worth their salt, VALUE THEIR WORTH!
and will not respond to such requests as ‘cheap’ + ‘affordable’.
[regardless of the budget]

and lastly, no matter your budget…
please remember::
you get what you pay for!
and for f #!$ sake… 
MAKE SURE THEY HAVE a CONTRACT!!

It’s hard to believe that it’s been this long.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I think of it… it simultaneously seems like it went by in a blur, and also, some of the longest years of my life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I am so incredibly grateful for where this road has taken me and where it’s leading me towards.
As rough, frustrating, and tumultuous it was at times, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I would be remiss if I did not mention the remarkable individuals who supported me, those who worked alongside me, and all who cheered me on throughout this unbelievable journey.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I literally could not have done it without you all.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Together, we’ve planned + executed over 700 Ceremonies, 300+ Receptions, hundreds of Corporate events, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Memorials, FundRaisers, Galas, Music Festivals, Art Shows, and even a few Japanese Anime Cons to round out our event adventures.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
