Schmautz & Wrobel is a freelance production company comprised of Tyler Schmautz & Paul Wrobel. Paul Wrobel is a student at Montana State University. For the past 10 years, he has dabbled with film-making, creating short projects from point-and-shoot cameras to working at MontanaPBS as an intern for their LearningMedia educational website. In 2017, Paul began working on a series of sports highlight
videos for his high school. These videos exemplified the very best of Frenchtown High and were used to represent the school during a student/teacher exchange program conference in Laos. In 2018, Paul worked freelance with ELM Utilities and Services to produce an ad that was featured in American Airlines and to potential investors in China. That same year, Paul's videos began to get recognition at the elementary school, which led Paul to make a video connecting young grade students with high schoolers, encouraging them to do their best and look forward to high school and beyond. Paul has earned several accolades; in 2019 Paul was accepted into MSU's chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, graduated from Frenchtown High School with High Honors and with National Honors Society recognition, received Frenchtown's Elk Student of the Month award, and was a recipient of many grants and scholarships. The son of Polish immigrants, Paul enjoys visiting family in Poland, rock-climbing, running, and all things outdoors.
Tyler Schmautz is a Film student at Montana State University and graduated from Frenchtown High School as well. Taking up the mantle after Paul, Tyler continued Paul's tradition of annual sports highlight videos and also made a video for the elementary school encouraging students to do the best they can in class and life. Tyler frequently produces videos for clients, including using his drone for aerial footage of houses for real estate agencies. Tyler is an outstanding runner, the current record holder of Frenchtown's fastest 5k record, the youngest member of the 2016-17 Frenchtown Cross Country State Championship team, named one of USATF's MVP athletes, and currently a member of the Division 1 Montana State University Track & Field team. Tyler takes his determination and undying spirit into every project. With an eye for film and photography, he takes his search for adventure everywhere he goes.
