We're open 7 days a week from 10 to 5 or by appointment. You'll find we offer a full array of tuxedo rentals for proms, weddings and other special occasions. We'll do our best to make you look good! We've been working with Jim's Formal Wear, the largest distributor of tuxedos in the country, for a number of years and have been honored as one of their "elite" dealers -- a designation that means top

service for you from our tuxedo specialists, Bridget Pillsbury and Greg Worden. We're open seven days a week for your convenience. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome, too.

Brought some new lamps and ornaments from Danforth Pewter and some train letters from Maple Landmark in Middlebury back to Vermont Artisan Designs on Friday. While there, got to take a look at the waterfall and some nice color. Great spots of color all along the trip from Brattleboro to Middlebury and back!

Today and tomorrow, Oct. 5 and 6, more than 130 artists and craftspeople around the state are opening their studios to the public during the annual Vermont Crafts Council's fall Open Studio Weekend. In Brattleboro, get your map at Vermont Artisan Designs and take a preview look at some of the work by participating artists.

Another quick road trip Thursday to pick up some new Will Moses paintings, puzzles, books and cards for Vermont Artisan Designs. Saw some nice colors along the way between Brattleboro and Eagle Bridge, going through Marlboro, Wilmington and Bennington. Lots going on this weekend starting with Gallery Walk tonight in Brattleboro and the Vermont Crafts Council's Open Studio Weekend on Saturday and Sunday throughout the state. The Tuxedo Gallery at Vermont Artisan Designs recently provided a suit for a mock wedding at the Retreat Farm's newly renovated North Barn public venue. Both the "bride and the groom" looked great! The wedding dress was provided by Pamela Moore Bridals. Photographer Emma Bostwick was tasked with preparing promotional photos and videos for the farm. The location offers a beautiful setting for weddings and other events in Brattleboro.

Robert Steinem, an artist showing at Vermont Artisan Designs, has won first place in the annual national show at the Copley Society of Art in Boston. His painting, "Glad All Over," is an oil on canvas and reflects the show's theme of exuberance. The Copley Society of Art is proud to present this year’s National Exhibition, “Exuberance Released,” open to all artists residing in the United States. Artists were invited to submit original works celebrating the exuberance of daily life in all its forms. These works range from realism to conceptual to abstract. The show continues through Aug. 17.

The work of Alistair McCallum, artist and photographer from Mt. Holly, will be featured at Vermont Artisan Designs on Friday, July 5, during Gallery Walk. Alistair will be joined by artist and illustrator Will Moses from 5:30 to 7:30. Will be signing books as well as commenting on his method of painting. Come on down and meet them.

Watercolorist John Dimick will be painting in the front window of Vermont Artisan Designs tonight. He's one of the featured artists of the month at the gallery along with oil painter Ken Young. John will be splattering paint in front of the gallery at 5 p.m. before continuing to work on the painting. Come on down!! Music on the piano by Peter Skolnick.

What appears to be the lone dormer on the Retreat Farm's North Barn is getting new roofing along with the rest of the barn. Today was a great follow-up to the Eclipse festivities with wispy clouds dancing in the blue sky.

Our friends at Solmate Socks, a company that started here in Vermont, sent us a box of socks for the folks at Groundworks. In addition to these, for every three pair sold at Vermont Artisan Designs in April, another pair will be donated to Groundworks. Warm, colorful socks are always a treat, but especially when the spring forecast is for snow!!

Wedding season is nearing and the Tuxedo Gallery at Vermont Artisan Designs took part in a bridal fair at Alyson's Orchard in Walpole, NH, on a sunny and unseasonably warm Sunday. We were joined by Justin from Smart Formalwear for the day. A number of other wedding-related businesses --from Pamela Moore Bridals to jewelers to photographers to florists to wedding cake bakers and more -- took part in the four-hour festivities at the beautiful wedding venue. Although it's still technically winter, here in Brattleboro we haven't seen too much snow. Robert Steinem's newest painting, "After the Storm," is a reminder of what winter can look like in Vermont. It's a 36 by 24 inch oil painting that you'll be able to find soon at Vermont Artisan Designs.
