🎉 Come show your support by cheering on and thanking our Going the Distance riders as they cross the finish line! These participants are riding many miles to raise vital funds for the Club, so that we can remain open for all youth in our community, regardless of their ability to pay.

We will be grilling hot dogs & hamburgers and serving ice cream sundaes, with live music provided by the Moondogs and other activities. 🍔🍨🎶

During the last week of summer camp, Kids Club campers explored aquatic environments and competed in a challenge to identify as many wetland plants and animals as possible. Following a creek hike, campers practiced skills including
birding, herping (searching for reptiles and amphibians), plant identification, soil sampling, and animal tracking. Kids were able to independently recognize and identify a dozen species of plants and several different species of birds, and they counted nearly 100 total salamanders!

“So these orange ones are red-spotted newts but when they look like this people call them red-spotted efts. They’re toxic, poisonous like poison dart frogs, not venomous like snakes. They’re going to go back in the water when they’re adults. When we pick up the logs we have to make sure there’s nobody sticking to the top and place it down very gentle so we don’t squish anybody.” (Carter, age 9)
