The harm of sweets
Psychological
Eating sugary foods in large quantities is addictive: the more and easier we give the body energy, the more the brain with the help of serotonin and dopamine encourages it - the sweet will want again and again.
Physiological
Glucose spikes when consuming large amounts of sweets are harmful in themselves - excess glucose raises insulin levels, poisons the blood, adversely affects the cardiovascular system, causes apathy and fatigue. Such products quickly satisfy hunger, but also quickly cause it.
The harm from sweets manifests itself in the negative impact on the teeth, as sugar is a source of food for bacteria and promotes their rapid reproduction, which leads to the destruction of tooth enamel, and subsequently to the formation of cavities.
Saturated fats and trans-fats in sugary foods increase blood cholesterol levels and, in addition to increasing body weight, have a negative impact on the skin, hair and nail health. Dyes, flavorings and additives can cause allergic reactions in the form of itching, rashes or redness.
For alternative sources of release of "happy hormones", we recommend: sports training, walking in the fresh air, engaging in art and any other type of hobby.
