Centerville Archway Days is looking for 10-12 straw bales to use on our float in the Christmas parade. If anyone is willing to donate or let us borrow it would be greatly appreciated. If they are donated we will pay it forward and donate them to another non profit for animals after the parade.

Words cannot express how sad the committee of the Centerville Archway Days Festival is to hear this news. Chief Spears has always stood as an important part in helping to bring the festival to the Centerville community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Retired CFR Chief Spears. Dennis lead a life of service and never complained. He epitomized everything that is right with the fire service. Chief Spears leaves behind a legacy that is unmatched and will be difficult to emulate. Please keep his family and his fire family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Our Story

The annual Centerville Archway Days Festival in Historic Centerville, IN is held on the 4th weekend in August at Maplewood Park.

The name Archway Days comes from the many brick archways along main street. During the 1820’s and 1830’s traffic along what is now US 40 (Main street, Centerville) became so heavy that people with street front property built onto the front of their businesses and built brick arches allowing access to the original properties in the rear. Some of these arches are still in good repair and can be seen as you travel down main street.

The Festival began in 1988 and has endured as a fun community event in late August. In 2013 the torch was passed from the original founding group to the current group of organizers. Many activities have come and gone over the years but the spirit of the festival remains the same. Come out and enjoy a weekend in east central Indiana and experience our wonderful small town festival.
