What if… If I hadn’t shown up as an extra to a music video shoot on my college campus then I wouldn’t have met the friends who would inspire my interest in photography more seriously. If I hadn’t said yes to my college bestie asking me to photograph her wedding, I wouldn’t have researched wedding photography careers. If I hadn’t arrived late to a clothing swap, I might not have met the photographer who gave me my first job second shooting and eventually became my mentor. If I didn’t hate my first job out of college, I wouldn’t have quit to do photography full-time. If I didn’t impulse buy a $200 ticket to NYC for my birthday in 2019, I might not have fallen in love with the city. While I hope for the absolute best at each and every event I photograph, sometimes things just happen! It’s helpful to have an experienced vendor on your side to help navigate those situations. Ways I’ve helped my couples in the past… Wedding day rain is everyone’s nightmare. When the weather suddenly changed at an outdoor wedding, I helped coordinate moving the ceremony to an indoor location and arranging decor/seating in a way that worked best with the lighting from the room’s windows to preserve the view. At another rainy event, the bride was disappointed they would be missing a sparkler sendoff at the end of their reception. I suggested that we have all of the guests gather in the venue’s hallway, hold up their cellphone lights, and make a tunnel for the couple to walk through for photos and goodbyes. The photos turned out adorable! I recently was photographing groomsmen group photos right before a ceremony when the groom’s jacket buttons fell off! The planner had already stepped away to coordinate guest arrive, so I was the only one left around that knows how to sew. I had his buttons stitched back on and was outside ready for the ceremony before anyone could even notice. Not to toot my own horn, but 🎺 I love being a helpful resource to my couples. Whether that’s before their wedding by helping plan timelines and shot lists, during, or after their event. I also highly recommend having an experienced and knowledgeable wedding planner on your side. Your wedding day is one of the most monumentous events of your life. Having a videographer with your photographer is another way to document and make sure your memories last forever 💖 Liz and Patrick have known each other since middle school. Even though they were just a year apart, it wasn’t until college that they really got to know each other, became friends, and, eventually, fell in love. And now, they’re finally married with the wedding of their dreams.  All throughout the planning process, every decision they’ve made they made sure to be on the same page with each other and make the decision together. It was so important to them that they put their love first beyond anything else that came their way.  Working alongside me (Rachael) as the photographer and media director, OkCrowe video team beautifully captured their love through so many small moments between the bride and groom. Tiny details like that can quickly be forgotten in the rush and adrenaline of your wedding. But you can almost FEEL those moments again though their wedding video.
