Decatur's Smokin' BBQ Festival Decatur's Smokin BBQ Festival's purpose is to create a festival that will enhance Decatur and surrounding communities through giving back to non for profits.

Decatur’s Smokin’ BBQ Festival, founded by LaVell Peete in August of 2015, is a Kansas City BBQ sanctioned event scheduled for October 6-7, 2017 in Decatur, IL. The non-for-profit organization After expenses are paid, the non-for-profit organization will donate all remaining funds to the Selma (Knox) Peete Scholarship, which will be awarded to a student wishing to attend Richland Community College's Culinary Arts Program.
