Firstly, to the trainers and exhibitors CONGRATULATIONS 🎊🎉🎈 I am so happy this event is back at “Harrisburg”!

Personally, this is quite an example of personal agendas/politics/ethics in the industry. It’s all water under the bridge, but on the exact dates I bid for 2018-19 for the Harrisburg Horse Show to host the Zone 2 Finals. After the Stirrup Cup program was nixed, I figured that would be a win win to fill out an application with USHJA to host this championship. Additionally, I also threw out working something out that it could still be the Committees show offering them the entire weekend. All that was needed were negotiations with regard to renting my footing if if the show wasn’t going to be hosted by the HBG Horse show. No formal response to any of it but the discussion on the call was that it wouldn’t work is “too early”. (Like anyone needs one more championship in October). Personally, it is salt in the wound that the winning bid was given to a former employee of my shows who submitted a bid on my former dates. My guess is “they” are probably renting my footing that I sold to big HBG as well. Neat! My best.

To the trainer/USHJA Zone 2 Committee member who purposely tossed an unqualified horse into the Stirrup Cup Finals simultaneously making a scene at the ingate ….everyone knows your what you did and your motives. They have for years. USHJA knows but chose to bury it.

There is no mileage protection for Channel 2 shows and the Increment Point System hugely favors the Channel I exhibitors. I pray to God that they will keep it to a maximum of 15 shows to qualify or we will be going back to a channel 2 horse show every day of the week like it wasn’t the early 2000’s. The horses don’t deserve this! Please reach out to me if you would like us to bring back USEF, channel 2 horse shows to Halcyon. We will certainly do it if there is demand.

The Harrisburg Horse Show wil be Sunday August 25 at Halcyon Farm, Ltd. It is USHJA Outreach, PHSA regional and CPJHSA.
It is a great day with lots of events. (All for $20/ class.)

The 2022 Harrisburg Classic will be held on August 27 at Halcyon Farm, Ltd. in Dillsburg, PA! The Harrisburg Horse show has been a tradition in the area for over 75 years. We will have those incredible huge ribbons, equitation medals and challenge trophies! You do not have to be a USEF member or pay those fees if showing in non-rated classes. Please add us to your calendar. Pre-entering (closer to the time, of course) is much appreciated.

Great picture of the 3rd year of the Stirrup Cup Championship at the Harrisburg National and Harrisburg Classic! Sadly USHJA decided to take it away.

Today would have been the last day of the Harrisburg week. I tradition of the Harrisburg Horse Show will carry on but in 2022 it will go back to a Spring date of May 7 at Halcyon Farm in Dillsburg.

I have sold my 1300 tons of footing to the October Harrisburg and with a heavy heart I must let go of my quest to have a super cool horse show and Championship for the middle of our sport at such a renowned venue. Thank you to everyone who supported the shows! I was truly blessed to have such wonderful exhibitors.

Please read this article and it will explain the "goings on" here in Harrisburg with regard to the Farm Show Complex. I will say that earlier in the summer we were hanging on to hopefully holding the shows but my local Representative said that she was advised to tell me to have something in writing that my out of pocket expenses prior to your event will be paid by the State. Of course, that would never happen. The Harrisburg National and Harrisburg Classic Horse Shows are committed to our exhibitors and miss you all!

Interestingly, the whole concept of these shows started with moving the Halcyon Summer Finale to the Farm Show Building and bringing back the original Harrisburg Horse Show est. 1940.

We will be having the Harrisburg Classic at Halcyon on August 28. It will be a one day Regional I horse show. We would sincerely appreciate your support and hope to see you there.
