Growing up, I always thought I would be a teacher or nurse, or something along those lines since both of those occupations run deep in my family. But, it wasn't until I was unexpectedly left without a photographer just 2 days before my own wedding that I knew EXACTLY what I would be doing with the rest of my life. So, I went to Best Buy and purchased my very first camera and started photographing

everything I could. After a couple of years of taking photos of every variety, I realized my passions lie within weddings and growing families.

Picture this, it is the middle of summer and your bridal party has been outside sweating while taking photos for over an hour. Everyone is annoyed. Hungry. And you just want some AC and a cold drink from the bar.

I have a feeling that is the LAST thing you want to happen and trust me, I don’t want this for you either.

FIVE MINUTES!! Over the course of my career, I have invested THOUSANDS of dollars in education so that I can be the best possible photographer for each and every one of my couples and families. With crazy weather, including flooding in surrounding areas, and the inability to reschedule, we went for it and worked as efficiently as possible to capture some sweet memories to highlight their trip to Oahu. All of these were captured in less than 5 minutes.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Your outfits can make or break your photos, so it's important to choose wisely.

When choosing your outfits, start by dressing the hardest person first. This could be the person who is most particular about what they wear or the person who has the most limited options in their wardrobe. Once the hardest person is dressed, you can coordinate the other outfits around theirs.

I always recommend at least one dressy outfit. This could be a long and flowy, or a cocktail dress for her and a suit or blazer for him. Dressing up adds an element of elegance and sophistication to your photos. It also gives you the opportunity to show off your style and personality.

Casual outfits are great for showing your playful and relaxed side and definitely recommended if you're going for a second outfit. Plus, they're usually more comfortable, which means you'll be able to move around and have fun during your session with poses that may otherwise be limited by the dressier outfits.

If you have insecurities in your arms, avoid sleeveless dresses. Remember, the most important thing is feeling confident in what you're wearing. If you feel great, it will show in your photos. So, take the time to plan your outfits and have fun with it!

Throwback to a beautiful collaboration with the talented who provided this stunning floral bouquet for a bridal session. Bridal sessions are a common practice in the southern states of the US and are a fantastic opportunity for brides to have a full trial run of their hair and makeup before the big day. It's also a chance for us photographers to capture some beautiful portraits of the bride in her stunning dress around the venue, whereas we wouldn't have the same amount of time on a wedding day.

One of the bridal portraits from this session is often displayed at the reception and serves as a cherished keepsake for the parents of the bride. As photographers, it's always a pleasure to capture these special moments that hold so much significance for the couple and their families.

To help make sure your ring looks its absolute best in your engagement photos, I recommend taking some time to clean it before your session.
