Great news for all event managers out there!

As of 2025, Town Center Park Association is stepping back from managing popular events in the park, and they're looking for local organizers to take the reins!

You might be the next in charge of the
Mardi Gras Festival and Parade,
Easter in the Park,
July 4th Family Games Festival,
Bark in the Park,
or Christmas in the Park.

It's a fantastic chance to showcase your event management skills and contribute to the Kingwood community spirit. Be sure to seize this opportunity!

Our community adores these long-standing events. The organization selection hinges on their dedication to event quality, management proficiency, financial understanding, and community ties.

If this strikes a chord, get in touch with Tony Austin. A text to 713-628-1886 or an email to [email protected] is all it takes to start a wonderful partnership.

First a Public Service Announcement!! If you are not a member of the Kingwood High School Theater Arts Group click here to sign up. Kingwood HS Theatre Arts Booster Club - Create Account (kingwoodtheatre.com) At least then you will know what you just missed in their latest blockbuster production!

Lets get the title out of the way – The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time! I will leave you to Google to find out about the show but it is an intensely dramatic production with just enough occasional lightness to lift the mood. It centers on the activities of an autistic boy called Chrstopher and a series of event surrounding the unexplained death of neighborhood dog. We witness lots of drama within his family including the supposed death of his mother and affairs within the neighborhood.

Let me first focus on the staging. Since I started sponsoring the group last year, I have seen Les Miserables, Pride and Prejudice – the musical, Musical R***e, Xanadu and last night. Every one included innovative exciting design and staging. Every part of the technical side, lighting, sound and the set worked perfectly. When I was involved in lighting we used to say our biggest compliment was to be ignored since it was our role to support, not be, the production. The staging of this show with its empty stage and three giant projection screens and the use of cast members as “furniture” was amazing!

So to the actors! It is difficult for me to find the words to describe how unbelievably good they are. I recognize several of them and am so impressed with the versatility of their talents. I hate to single out actors because as with all there shows every single performance by an individual was outstanding. BUT to see Fantine (from Les Mis) now playing a harassed mother in such a spectacular fashion! And Mr Darcy (P & P) performed magnificently as Christophers increasingly frustrated dad. I also really enjoyed Mrs Alexander who was a truly authentic aging gardener.

But Christopher!!! Such a passionate and inciteful portrayal of the young autistic kid so incredibly describing everything going on in his life with the help of the equally passionate Siobhan. They let us in on the most intimate secrets of their lifestyle!

Bravo, bravo, bravo to Director Camee Faulk and her entire team. We are privileged to have you in our community!!

So if you didn’t know about it shame on you and get signed up so you can be there for Chicago. I won’t miss it!! Kingwood HS Theatre Arts Booster Club - Create Account (kingwoodtheatre.com)

Apology for the Town Center Park Laser Show
I was very embarrassed by what was supposed to be a synchronized laser show last night. The Producer, Laser Spectacles, was contracted to provide a show that was laser images synchronized with a custom sound track. They did not do that. Despite being on site for 10 hours prior to the show they had not tested their connection to the sound board and their laptop audio output did not work! That was the reason for the 20-minute delay. Finally, our sound team played a patriotic music track from one of our previous fireworks shows but there was no synchronization. Also, they had not blown enough v***r into the Park so the back half of the Park had no v***r and so had no laser images. I was very disappointed and extremely angry and let them know that!! I again apologize to the great crowd that came out and enjoyed the rest of the day with us.

We love having families enjoy our Family Games Festival. We are here until the laser show at 9pm
