Bach, Mozart, and Brahms will be at Jones Hall this weekend, November 23rd and 24th!

Members of the Houston Symphony shine in smaller-ensemble works by three of music's most enduringly popular composers, Bach, Mozart, and Brahms. Marvel at the dazzling invention of Bach's Violin Concerto No. 1, performed by Concertmaster Yoonshin Song. Then, bask in the glorious melodies and effervescent charm of sparkling serenades of Mozart and Brahms.

HSS: Halloween Silent Film Double Feature - Chills and thrills await in this hair-raising double feature of two of the greatest silent films of all time! The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and The Phantom of the Opera with live accompaniment by organist Brett Miller.

HSS: The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Pop culture’s most famous horror musical descends on Jones Hall for an evening of eerie revelry. This interactive screening of Tim Curry’s campy cult classic includes an appearance by actress Patricia Quinn and access to a free after party!

Dubbed “The Queen of Mariachi”, Cuevas performs some of the greatest hits from Gabriel’s career, including “Te Lo Pido Por Favor”, “Te Sigo Amando”, “La Diferencia”, and more. With a 46 - year career and 41 album releases to her credit, Cuevas continues her unswerving devotion to traditional mariachi music and for her mastery of its demanding vocal forms.

Experience the astounding, once-in-a-generation talents of Daniil Trifonov, live in concert as he joins the Symphony for Dvořák’s powerful and dramatic Piano Concerto. Plus, the orchestra performs lively and uplifting works by Czech composers, ending with Janáček’s triumphant Sinfonietta.

Houston Symphony: Dvořák’s Violin Concerto - GRAMMY Award winner James Ehnes sets toes tapping and spirits soaring with Dvořák’s exuberant Violin Concerto. Discover a new favorite composer as Juraj Valčuha shares music of Vítězslava Kaprálová, who left a powerful stamp on the music world despite her tragically early death at the age of 25. Blazing with triumphant fanfares and powered by an extra-large brass section, 12 trumpets strong, Janáček’s Sinfonietta closes the program with festive flourish.
