When we worked with this couple, they radiated happiness and they're clearly meant for each other. Their bond was evident in every glance and touch, and they were surrounded by the warmth and joy of those who cherish them. 💚

"Working with Lisa and Posy Laboratory for our wedding florals was such a great experience!! They were intentional in understanding our vision and budget, communication was ideal, and everything was beautiful. They even shared how florals were sourced and utilized toward eco-friendly and sustainability efforts after our event. I highly recommend them!

The smoketree is an intricately branched plant that changes from a gray-silver (smoky) color to a purple-filled plume in early summer. Two of ours are in bloom right now. The smoketree branches are sharp to touch so it does not work in personal flowers, but is beautiful added to arrangements and installations. For anyone thinking of a June or July wedding next year, this is a unique plant to include!

ID: A cut out photo of a cluster of smoketree branches with small purple flowers. Main text on the graphic reads: Our garden plants. Smoketree. Dalea spinosa or psorothamnus spinosus. This shrub and tree loves sandy soils and produces a legume fruit after its showy display of purple blooms in early summer. It attracts large numbers of native bees. Native plant to Southern California, Arizona, and Northern Mexico. Blooms June-July. Color palette grey, silver, purple, blue, gold, pale green. Design features intricate branches, deep purple and blue flowers Second photo is another photo of smoketree branches with small purple flowers.

When the Native American Land Conservancy reached out to us asking if we could provide beautiful table arrangements for their new learning center's grand opening celebration, it was an immediate YES! Many of the designs' plants came from our own garden, including desert willow flowers, four wing saltbush, creosote, Cleveland sage, jojoba, chuparosa, and palo verde flowers. The rest were grown in California or a West Coast state.

The Native American Land Conservancy is dedicated to acquiring, preserving, and protecting off-reservation sacred lands. Hunat Paac Pihaaka' (Bear’s Water) is a private preserve in Morongo Valley and an exploration hub with guided adventures sharing indigenous narratives and sustainable practices. Happy Anniversary Month to us! One year ago, I took an idea, a passion, and a mission and made Posy Laboratory an official business. You all bring me joy and I have loved meeting each and every one of you!

Special thanks to Coachella Valley Women's Business Center and their It's Your Time program. They provided me with the support, guidance, and encouragement to make Posy Laboratory a reality.

🌸 The mission of Posy Laboratory is to create joy and inspiration while respecting the desert flora and fauna. Sustainability drives the product and we will always be learning and questioning if there is a better way to produce. 🌸

Have you discovered the magic of aura photography yet? Thanks to SoulGlow Aura in Palm Springs, I got a stunning glimpse of my energetic colors the day this portrait was taken. It’s beyond fascinating!

Just like in your aura, colors hold special meanings in our floral arrangements too. Imagine the vibrant yellows symbolizing joy and optimism, or the rich oranges that promote fun-loving and creativity—every shade we use has a story, just like the colors in your aura.

Have you ever had your aura portrait taken?

Maybe infographics aren't the sexiest thing to post, but this one explains something very important to us. When I explain the order in which we select flowers, this is what I picture in my head, usually accompanied with my hand gesturing in circles. We try to source local flowers first, then move out from there. My clients are excited about this business value so I do my very best to commit to that.

description: An infographic showing a small circle with the Posy Laboratory logo representing the most local source, our garden. From there, the circles get larger and more faded as the sourcing order goes to regional to state to west coast and beyond. The labels are in this order from top priority to low priority: our garden, hi desert and low desert, southern california, rest of california and west coast, rest of USA, and rest of world.

We were honored to provide an artistic arrangement for a solar eclipse sound bath at Divine Sound. To celebrate Spring, growth, the power of flowers, and renewal (along with three guests' birthdays!), I designed an ikebana-inspired two part arrangement. The larger arrangement had a bright gradient of flowers bursting from the "earth" on a bed of creosote. Using a flower that's not normally the center of attention, light purple statice represented the odd, crater texture of the moon. The tall candlestick used a vintage floral ring and a taper candle (LED of course) to represent the sun with butterfly ranunculus and flowering feathery cassia from our garden radiating outwards.

Happy Earth Day! We're sharing some Earth-friendly flower tips, since sustainability and environmental consciousness is kind of our thing.

id: carousel of graphic images with the following information:
[1] eco-friendly flower tips
[2] potted plants. As an eco-friendly alternative to traditional floral arrangements, think of using potted succulents. They last longer, are easy to repot, and are pretty drought tolerant – although not critter-proof!
[3] ask your florist. When selecting a florist, ask about their sustainability practices. Look for florists who prioritize eco-friendly sourcing methods, such as foam-free arrangements and supporting sustainable farming practices that include local flower farms.
[4] offset carbon emissions. Consider offsetting the carbon emissions associated with your floral purchase by donating to carbon offset projects or investing in eco-friendly initiatives. This helps mitigate the environmental impact. We contribute 1% of our sales of local delivery or subscriptions to carbon removal.
[5] reuse your arrangements. If you are hosting an event or planning a wedding, reduce waste by repurposing event flowers throughout the day. Transition ceremony flowers to reception decor. Let local guests take arrangements home. Move floral installations to different spaces as your event shifts throughout the day. We offer repurposing services for your event so you don’t have to worry about it.

It's California Poppy Day! The photos used in this post are from a few years ago of our California Poppies growing in our garden. We tried to transplant them, but they didn't survive. Last month, we spread some poppy seeds in two different sections of our garden to try to get 1-2 poppy patches growing again. So far, nothing that looks like poppy leaves have sprouted. If this attempt proves to be unsuccessful, I will try this fall when I was supposed to sow the seeds!

ID: A cut out photo of a California Poppy flower head. The cut out is on a pale yellow background. Main text on the graphic reads: Our garden plants. Eschscholzia californica. The official state flower of California, it can be both annual or perennial. If happy, they will reseed themselves. They are adaptive to drought. Native Plant to California & found Western United States, Great Basin, & partial Sonoran Desert. Blooms Spring-Summer, sometimes Fall & Winter. Color Palette Orange, yellow. Design Features One flower per stem

Happy National Dandelion Day! Dandelions can have a bad reputation as being a nuisance to lawn perfectionists. But they don't deserve that bad rap. They are celebrated in the desert! They are one of the first flowers to pop up in the Spring. They're adapted to thrive in our harsh desert climate and are an essential part of the ecosystem. Dandelions provide nectar to pollinators and don't displace native plants. They also hold up well in arrangements!

What are your thoughts on dandelions?
