So over today.... Waiting on one of my other officers to get here to dispose of some confiscated narcotics.

If anyone wonders why our canine officer Loki attacks me at the next staff meeting it will be because while wrestling with the suspect I stuck the evidence bag in between my vest and duty uniform and Loki has the best nose ever!

Come on 6:00 p.m. so I can drive an hour back to the ranch and cross over the cattle guard and decompress and be less stressed I need to love on some ranch critters and have some down time because working back-to-back doubles kicked my butt! You can only deal with the craziness and insanity in this world of criminals for so long without getting a refresh.

I do my part to make our world a better place and I can only pray that others do as well so that we can see a positive change in the hold that drugs have on our society today.

TRUE STORY: A snake ambushed a lizard and was able to begin swallowing him whole. The lizard managed to clamp onto the snake and with vice grip tenacity would not let go, would not give up in the midst of the struggle. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the snake was forced to regurgitate the lizard. The lizard scampered off in victory, the snake slithered off exhausted and defeated. In that day you will say: "Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.

First and foremost I am thankful that Our Heavenly Father without Him I am nothing. There are so many things to be thankful and grateful for yet often times we only focus on what is not right in our lives.

Have you thanked God today for waking you up? For blessing you with a roof over your head, the breath you and your loved ones breathe? The job you have ~ The family you have ~ The ability to live in a world where you can freely express your faith and beliefs ~ The good in your life?

I am blessed with a job I love ~ there are many stressors at times, however my job gives me the ability to do the things I love, like raise amazing critters and rodeo with the best of them, travel, spend time with my family.

I am blessed with family ~ they love me no matter what, though we may disagree at times I know that we are always there for one another and we may fight ~ but you mess with one of us and you mess with all of us!

I am blessed with vehicles to drive ~ at times they make break down, but I am blessed with Triple AAA gold membership and I know within 45 minutes usually I will be on the road again ~ might be in a tow truck but I am on the road again!

I am thankful for it all the joys, the sorrows, the dust and the mud, the good and the bad, the happy and the sad, the trials, the successes, the losses, the gains, the pretty and the ugly; because all of them have developed me as I continue my walk to honor Our Father in every way. Though I may slip at times, I know that I have His forgiveness and if I take it to Him, He will show me the way!

So again I ask what are you thankful for? Focus on what you can be thankful for and give thanks! Pray always and ask for and expect the things that are not well in your life will be well if you walk it out in faith!

Tonight, I gave each of the girls a rock and a sucker. I had them walk down the road and back with the rock in their shoe and the sucker in their mouth. You should’ve heard the grumbling. They couldn’t walk normal because the rock was uncomfortable. They were limping and staggering just trying to get back to me.

We then came back inside and I asked them what was it like for them to walk around like that. The answers varied but most talked about how hard it was to walk around with the rock in their shoe. Nobody mentioned how sweet the sucker was in their mouth.

I will be celebrating my 58th birthday in Vegas this year as well as cheering on and helping my brother from another mother Dennis Davis and Dennis Davis Bucking Bulls while competing in the ABBI/PBR Bull Team Finals!

Parents with children in sports, here is your laugh for the day: A parent was making a breakfast of fried eggs for their child. Suddenly the child bursts into the kitchen. "Careful! Careful! Put in some more butter! Oh my goodness! You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my! WHERE are we going to get MORE BUTTER? They're going to STICK! Careful!... CAREFUL! I said CAREFUL! You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you crazy? Have you lost your mind? Don't forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt. USE THE SALT! THE SALT!" The parent stared at the child. "What's wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?" The child calmly replied, "I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm trying to play soccer."

There is a reason I always revert to rolling solo.... some people can't handle being alone or not having continuous interaction from others. I on the opposite side of the coin find my greatest clarity when I am alone... no distractions and others who take you away from your focus or goals. I guess what I am saying to those of you who feel like you have to have someone to always be there with you or by your side don't be afraid to walk it out solo because there is someone who is always with you who will never leave you or forsake you... Our Heavenly Father is always beside you and always willing to lead you and guide you. So step away from the distractions and listen to and heed His guidamce and His word... God will never lead you astray!

This sheep dog is covered in his own blood after fighting off wolves protecting his flock, while the sheep gently comforts him.
Regardless of how physically strong or emotionally tough someone is, showing them how much you appreciate their efforts goes a long way.
The dog is willing to die for his sheep, and the gesture of the sheep comforting him is all he needs.
Never take someone for granted who is willing to fight for you or stand by you in your time of need. Appreciate their efforts, and show them that you are grateful.

A Pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.
The Pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again and it won again.
The local paper read: PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.
The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the Pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.
The next day the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS.
This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Pastor to get
rid of the donkey.
The Pastor decided to give it to a Nun in a nearby convent.
The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day: NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.
The Bishop fainted.
He informed the Nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey so she sold it to a farm for $10.
The next day the paper read: NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10
This was too much for the Bishop so he ordered the Nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.
The next day the headlines read: NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.
The Bishop was buried the next day.
The moral of the story is . . . being concerned about public opinion can bring you much grief and misery and even shorten your life.
So be yourself and enjoy life.
Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and just cover your own !!!
You'll be a lot happier and live longer.

A pastor asked an older farmer, decked out in bib overalls, to say grace for the morning breakfast.
"Lord, I hate buttermilk", the farmer began. The visiting pastor opened one eye to glance at the farmer and wonder where this was going.
The farmer loudly proclaimed, "Lord, I hate lard." Now the pastor was growing concerned.
Without missing a beat, the farmer continued, "And Lord, you know I don't much care for raw white flour". The pastor once again opened an eye to glance around the room and saw that he wasn't the only one to feel uncomfortable.
Then the farmer added, "But Lord, when you mix them all together and bake them, I do love warm fresh biscuits. So Lord, when things come up that we don't like, when life gets hard, when we don't understand what you're saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. It will probably be even better than biscuits. Amen."

A good lesson

‘My dad has bees.Today I went to his house and he showed me all of the honey he had gotten from the hives. He took the lid off of a 5 gallon bucket full of honey and on top of the honey there were 3 little bees, struggling. They were covered in sticky honey and drowning. I asked him if we could help them and he said he was sure they wouldn't survive. Casualties of honey collection I suppose.

I asked him again if we could at least get them out and kill them quickly, after all he was the one who taught me to put a suffering animal (or bug) out of its misery. He finally conceded and scooped the bees out of the bucket. He put them in an empty Chobani yogurt container and put the plastic container outside.
Because he had disrupted the hive with the earlier honey collection, there were bees flying all over outside.

We put the 3 little bees in the container on a bench and left them to their fate. My dad called me out a little while later to show me what was happening. These three little bees were surrounded by all of their sisters (all of the bees are females) and they were cleaning the sticky nearly dead bees, helping them to get all of the honey off of their bodies. We came back a short time later and there was only one little bee left in the container. She was still being tended to by her sisters.

When it was time for me to leave we checked one last time and all three of the bees had been cleaned off enough to fly away and the container was empty.

Those three little bees lived because they were surrounded by family and friends who would not give up on them, family and friends who refused to let them drown in their own stickiness and resolved to help until the last little bee could be set free.
Bee Sisters. Bee Peers. Bee Teammates.

We could all learn a thing or two from these bees.

Whatever We Ask We Receive from Him..

1 John 3:22 ~ And whatever we ask we receive from Him. Because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight!

I read and reflect on this and wonder at times.... I know that inherently I always try and keep His commandments, I know that I waver at times on always being pleasing in His sight (lose my temper, swear when frustrated) what I wonder is if inherently you try and always live and be your best, being kind to others, helping others, encouraging others, lifting and supporting others... why does the devil still keep trying to come knocking at your door and disrupt your peace?

When I wonder, I remember that God never gives us more than we can handle (even though we might think He trust our ability to handle way to much); I know that I am more than a conqueror and that FAITH always will see me through.

At times life, people, loved ones, family, co-workers, bosses, your staff, significant others, and friends will disappoint you and even slightly disillusion you. However never let the speed bumps in the road steer you off course and away from all that God has in store for you ~ Roll over them and in the words of Rollo Werchan "Mash on It"! Keep on Keeping on!

A lady asks: "How much do you sell your eggs for?"

The old vendor replies "50¢ an egg, madam.” The lady says, “I'll take 6 eggs for $2.50 or I'm leaving.”

The old salesman replies “Buy them at the price you want, Madam. This is a good start for me because I haven't sold a single egg today and I need this to live.”

She bought her eggs at a bargain price and left with the feeling that she had won.

She got into her fancy car and went to a fancy restaurant with her friend. She and her friend ordered what they wanted. They ate a little and left a lot of what they had asked for.

They paid the bill, which was $150. The ladies gave $200 and told the fancy restaurant owner to keep the change as a tip...

This story might seem quite normal to the owner of the fancy restaurant, but very unfair to the egg seller...

The question it raises is:

I once read this somewhere ,that a father used to buy goods from poor people at high prices, even though he didn't need the things. Sometimes he paid more for them.

I was amazed. One day his son asked him "Why are you doing this Dad?" His father replied: "It's charity wrapped in dignity, son."

I want to challenge each one of us to do better. We can do that.

Refuse to complain. Complaining is just a way of not taking responsibility, justifying doing nothing and programming yourself to fail. Complaining creates the illusion that you have done something. Instead, pour your energy into improving your situation. When you find ways to be productive and maintain a sense of optimism, you demonstrate that you are in control of your own life.

Complainers focus on what has happened, giving up their power. Winners focus on making things happen and using their power to find solutions to their challenges. You were born to create something magnificent with your life!! Solution-based thinking gives you that power. You have something special. You have GREATNESS within you!!
