VOCES8
Sunday March 6, 2022

Recently called “the Rolls-Royce of British a ca****la ensembles,” the British vocal ensemble VOCES8 is known internationally for its impeccable quality of vocal tone and balance. With meticulous timing and tuning, they bring a new dimension to the word ‘ensemble.’ Versatility and a celebration of diverse musical expression are central to the group’s performance and education ethos. VOCES8 has performed in notable venues around the world including the Sydney Opera House, Victoria Concert Hall Singapore, and Palacio do Bellas Artes Mexico City and others in the UK, Europe, the United States, and Japan.

In 2020 the vocalists launched “Live from London,” ground-breaking global streaming festivals hosted by the VOCES8 Foundation that connect performers with audiences from around the world. The ensemble also founded the VOCES8 Digital Academy, an online choral program for high schools and colleges featuring live interaction with members of the ensemble. Via recordings, videos and live broadcasts, the 5 male/3 female ensemble is heard regularly on albums, international television and radio, as well as maintaining a vibrant web performance presence. VOCES8 has released acclaimed albums under Decca Classics and VOCES8 Records.

We have implemented the following COVID protocols:

Pre-registration is required for admission. (as always, admission is free)
Wear a mask.
Bring proof of vaccination and a photo ID.

Finally, for this concert we are not able to safely accommodate wheelchairs in the main sanctuary. Wheelchairs will be seated in the Commons with a big screen and open doors so they will experience both the audio and visual concert live.

Tickets for VOCES8 will be available starting February 21 on Eventbrite.com.

She took it a step further by inspiring the listener with high-quality music that they had never heard before. Through that inspiration, the Bethlehem Music Series was born. House Manager Position for the Bethlehem Music Series
The House Manager is responsible for securing 6-10 ushers and 1-2 greeters per concert. She/He will assign each usher a section of the church to pass collection baskets, a position prior to the concert to hand out programs or assist guests with seating, especially those with wheelchairs or walkers. Ushers are given assigned seats by the house manager at which they will begin passing the baskets. The House Manager is available after the concert begins to make sure guests do not enter the sanctuary during a performance except at breaks for applause or intermission. After the collection is taken, the House Manager will collect all of the baskets and deposit into the safe in the office area. After the concert, the House Manager and ushers will check the pews for any left items and to collect any programs or other papers. The House Manager is available to assist with any health or weather emergencies and to help control unruly or disruptive guests. The House Manager will also take a head count during each concert.

Social Media Coordinator Needed

Currently in its 39th season, the Bethlehem Music Series contributes to the cultural richness of our community by presenting high caliber and eclectic performances free of admission. As we prepare to celebrate out 40th season in 2022, we are searching for a social media coordinator to join our volunteer Board of Directors. The social media coordinator will help the organization develop a social media presence on social media platforms to develop relationships with current and potential audiences and donors.

Experience and a passion for social media are more important than specific education. If you are interested in being considered for this volunteer position, please contact Sandra Anderson, Chair, at [Email hidden] or Maria Bucka, Artistic Director, at [Email hidden].

Ginger Commodore & Friends
Sunday February 7, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Central Time on YouTube.

A member of the Midwest music scene for many years, Ginger Commodore is a regular visitor. Classically trained, gospel influenced, and jazz inspired, Commodore’s musical foundation is a true amalgam of musical styles presented with her own unique delivery. Her early background was gospel, and she honed her skills in church and in the Grammy Award winning group, The Sounds of Blackness. Then came Moore by Four, and years of singing the jazzy gospel-infused vocal arrangements that gave the group an international audience. And now, all that talent and experience is brought into her own group, Ginger Commodore & Friends.
