Meet Jessica Thornton! Jessica became a member of our Blossom Catering sales team in August 2021. Jessica helps us coordinate all winery events and ensures that we have qualified staff to run each event. After growing up watching her mother run a catering business, working in catering came naturally. For as long as she can remember, Jessica was put to work helping peel and devein shrimp. Born and raised in Lake Tahoe, Jessica grew up in a super small town and loved it. Whether you like to ski in the winter or boat in the summer, Tahoe has it all! Jessica graduated from college with a Journalism degree emphasizing in Public Relations. She landed an internship after college doing public relations at big annual events for a company called Arizona Events. Ever since, Jessica has been working in the hospitality industry with a focus on wine and special events. When asked what her favorite thing about this job is, she said, “I love my coworkers and finding new clients to share amazing menus and food with. I get a thrill out of people enjoying fantastic food!” Jessica hopes to offer our guests delicious food while making everything easy for them. She really takes pride in our customer service. We strive to offer the best possible experience to our guests in every aspect! Jessica hopes to bring growth, teamwork, fun times and new guests to Blossom this year. When asked if she could have an unlimited supply of any one thing, she replied with, “Bubbles! Champagne all day!” Cheers to you Jessica, we appreciate everything you do!

Meet Chef Nate Smith! Nate is our Chief of Production and the cofounder of Blossom Catering Company. Nate and his production team are always working hard to offer the highest quality of food and wine pairing options for our guests. He discovered a passion for cooking at a young age through handling and preparing exquisitely fresh, local seafood. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA, Nate grew up surfing and fishing in the ocean. He was drawn to the hospitality industry because of his love for great food and how much there is to learn about it. Nate says, “it’s a constant learning experience and there are no boring days in the kitchen.” He began his career in hospitality at the age of sixteen as a dishwasher at Santa Cruz’s top ranked French restaurant Au Midi, working under M*F trained Chef Muriel Loubiere. Nate decided to continue his education at The Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, CA. Throughout that period he was able to work with the Michael Mina restaurant group at RN74 and The MINA Test Kitchen in San Francisco, CA. Nate says he is forever grateful for the incredible learning opportunity that they provided. While studying at The Culinary Institute of America, Chef Itamar Abramovitch and Chef Nate Smith met, leading to the birth of Blossom Catering Company in 2015. When asked what his favorite thing about his job is, Nate said, “I have been able to be part of this company since its inception and watch as it progresses into something very special.” Being able to see Blossom grow into a team of so many talented people working together to build the best possible catering company servicing Napa Valley, Sonoma and the Bay Area is exciting. Nate is working on some new dishes for our guests this year with his team and looks forward to potentially bringing on more talent!
