🎉🐾 Welcome Tyson! 🐾🎉

Today is Tyson's first day of day care at A Dog's Dream! This 1-year-old Pit-Boxer mix has come a long way from his rescue story, overcoming GI issues and finding his playful spirit with the love and support of the-always-amazing Because of Bubbles Rescue!

Remember Charlotte? Our first foster from Craven-Pamlico Animal Services? Special thanks to her new dad for generously donating Tyson's day care days. We're excited to watch Tyson thrive and make new friends here!

🚨SAVE THE DATE! October 26th is our 2nd annual Paws Against Abuse Adopt-a-Thon! Coastal Women's Shelter and Craven-Pamlico Animal Services are joining hands again to shine a light on two critical issues: domestic violence against people and cruelty to pets. Together, we're on a mission to make a difference.
We're not just hosting an event; we're creating opportunities. By raising funds and seeking sponsors, we aim to cover half of the adoption fees for dogs. Our goal? To ensure every deserving canine finds their furrever home, where they'll be cherished and loved. Our Adopt-a-Thon not only aims to place these wonderful animals in caring environments but also sheds light on the broader issues of abuse—whether it's domestic, sexual, child abuse, or animal cruelty.
This year's event promises to be unforgettable, filled with family-friendly activities like trunk or treat, games, and delicious treats from food trucks. Most importantly, our adoptable dogs will be there, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to become part of a loving family.

These are all quotes from posts that we have seen from our rescue partners, daily. The space crisis in animal welfare is happening throughout the nation at the moment, and for the past few months we have witnessed numerous resources be lost due to lack of space and/or lack of animals being adopted. It is no secret that hundreds of thousands of animals are dying in shelters all across to U.S. every year since they have nowhere else to go.

Where does that leave CPASC? Well, we are still here, functioning as an open-admission facility and taking in dozens of animals a day, sometimes over a hundred each week. We take in the homeless, broken, abused, ill, behaviorally struggling and everything in-between regardless of space, time or temperament. We love serving our community and helping the animals that need us, and because of you, our adoption numbers have doubled in the past year.

While animal shelters all over the country are being forced to close their doors for intake, meaning less opportunity for our animals to be transferred out of our facility; we are still open. We need our community behind us to help us save the lives of the animals that need us, we need adopters and fosters. We need your support. Try rehoming your pet on your own before coming to CPASC, attempt to locate an owner through social media for lost pets, use us as a resource if you are in need and struggling to find assistance. We can keep moving towards ending the killing of unnecessary animals, but only with your help. Thank you for being a part of our community of animal advocates ❤🩵💜🩷
