Founded by Rob Schron over 35 years ago in New York City, Schron Associates is an independent, family-owned meeting & incentive travel company that also offers authentic NYC destination management services by native New Yorkers. We plan and manage programs in US and international city and resort destinations for clients ranging in size from local family businesses to global corporations like Volks

wagen, Stryker and National Australia Bank. We also work with tour operators and travel agencies from around the world, particularly on their Big Apple programs. Whether your event is a sales meeting in a major city or a management retreat at a secluded resort, we work with you to select appropriate venues and vendors, negotiate contracts, and personally oversee the program to its successful completion. If your event is here in NYC, we also offer you the local knowledge and experience of native New Yorkers at no extra cost. We don't promise to be the slickest or the cheapest, but we are among the most experienced, we offer advice unbiased by financial ties, and we are very, very hands-on. If you think our approach might be right for your event, please call us at 212-595-2700 or email [email protected]

Great to see this iconic NYC attraction voted # 1 in the world. ICYMI in 2019, shortly before the pandemic, the Empire State Building completed a renovation of its observation decks and the feedback has been very positive, so even if you've been before it might just be worth another visit. Also great to see an Abu Dhabi attraction in the top 10; we can help you plan your group or event there too!

The New York Times has revealed its "52 Places to Go in 2023" and there are some amazing destinations here. #1 is London which is always a favorite of our incentive group clients, but we'd like to highlight a less obvious name on the list - New Haven, CT! New Haven is now our second location and "Connecticut’s third-largest city is a historic, mostly walkable and bikeable seaside town with distinctive neighborhoods, an encyclopedic collection of great American architecture, a thriving cultural life and one of the best food scenes in the country for a city of its size." As with our other destinations, we're happy to be of assistance in the exciting Elm City or on the beautiful Connecticut shoreline in general.

Travel’s rebound has revealed the depth of our drive to explore the world. Why do we travel? For food, culture, adventure, natural beauty? This year’s list has all those elements, and more.

This year's Rock Center tree is an 82ft tall Norway Spruce from Queensbury, NY and it's lit daily from 5am-12am. On Christmas Day it will be lit for 24 hours and on New Year’s Eve from 5am to 9pm. Michael's pro tip to avoid crowds: go on a weeknight and approach from the 48th Street side between 5th and 6th Avenues. More tree info and a bird's eye livestream here https://www.rockefellercenter.com/holidays/rockefeller-center-christmas-tree-lighting/

Another NYC holiday tradition that's back this year. We were going to share our own pics as we're at Grand Central every week but this is better. Great place to pick up unique holiday gifts from artisanal and local vendors and now with a new City Winery location just opposite in Vanderbilt Hall, featuring grab and go food, a wine bar cafe, and a farm-to-table restaurant.

We've always thought cruises are a great option for corporate and affinity groups, as well as multigenerational family travel, but how about for a Thanksgiving where no one has to cook or clean up (or eat turkey, if you'd prefer other options)? Have a great holiday, whether you're spending it on land or at sea!

No cooking, no cleanup, no script: A growing number of Americans are spending the holiday at sea, making new friends and traditions.

Great to see NYC still making it onto the best holiday destination lists, such as this one. Our hometown really is a magical place to visit during the festive season, and in 2022 all our much-loved holiday traditions will be back, with the Rockefeller Center tree arriving on November 12 - that's less than a week away! Things really kick off with the Thanksgiving parade on the 24th, followed by the tree lighting on the 30th, and then, just like that, it will be December. Of course, for those who prefer different weather or cultural atmosphere there are some other amazing holiday destinations on this list as well - if you go to St. Lucia, Michael says try the Piton Shandy!

The best Christmas vacations combine holiday cheer and fun activities in a beautiful destination. Here are the best places to go for Christmas this year.

Happy Halloween! Have you ever stayed at a "haunted hotel?" We've been to a few of these places and saw nothing unusual, but then we're just blocks from "Spook Central" (of Ghostbusters fame) - and we used to give out trick-or-treat bags at October trade shows. 🎃🎃🎃

If you're looking for the most haunted hotels in the world, this list has some seriously haunted ones sure to give you a scare.

For , in the early to mid 2000s we used to give out these Big Apple stickers at trade shows, to anyone who requested our info packet by mail, and just to friends or whoever wanted one. Given the timing, there was a lot of enthusiasm for NYC and they turned out to be quite popular, so we ended up doing 3 versions. A few of them found their way to some interesting parts of the world, especially this one.

Seen on St. Mark's Place - the East Village has been a center of art and music since the '60s, first as a popular area for hippies and later as the epicenter of NYC's punk life in the '70s, then home to the new wave and avant-garde scene of the '80s. Today there are still many unique venues, including small shops, eateries and watering holes, and in summer it's a great place to explore and of course check out the current and ever-changing street art.

This is a pretty accurate list, although in a city with over 25,000 dining establishments there are always more classics to consider. We've experienced about half of these venerable NYC eateries, including several with client groups seeking an authentic New York experience; have you tried any of them?

Whether it’s a classic New York steakhouse or one of the oldest restaurants in Chinatown, these establishments deserve to be on everyone’s bucket list

Coming June 9, it's PLAYtime - the return of low-cost flights between Europe and New York's scenic Hudson Valley! It's the home of Woodbury Common and Legoland, and just 90 minutes from midtown Manhattan. Service will be via Iceland from/to cities like Paris, London, Berlin, Dublin and Brussels. Norse Atlantic Airways is also expected to announce flights to New York Stewart soon, nonstop from Oslo and possibly London. NYC is ready to welcome the world this summer, and here are some new ways to get here!

We’re offering cheap flights to New York Stewart International Airport, which is quite frankly, a novel approach. It’s a 90-minute bus ride from Times Square, but this small and comfy airport is situated in the southwest of the Hudson Valley, an upstate New York paradise.
