Alexandra looked absolutely gorgeous on her wedding day to hubby Manny! Such a handsome couple and the sweetest bride and cousin to two of my former brides, Nicole and Alyssa who were in her wedding party! How much do I love to measure a dress 👗! Well our beautiful bride Christina selected our beautiful Naomi dresss by Lea Ann Belter. I custom measure the Lea Ann dresses and then a pattern is made in Canada 🇨🇦 for each and every bride 👰. My fit is pretty 😍 darn good if I say so myself. Doesn’t she look beautiful with hubby Michael at The Pavilion at Crystal Lake.

We are moving on up South Main Street - 84A South Main Street, Newtown, Ct - we will have our last appointment here at 4:30 pm and then movers are here tomorrow.

We are so excited to continue growing in our new space which will encompass not only bridal and moms, but stationery, ( other apparel) as well as a complete showroom for my branding business, Persnickety Promotions.

This has been a long, long time a coming. Through the pandemic, and some very personal disruptions for me my staff and I have persevered to get to this place.

Those that have supported us both personally and professionally know who they are and I am so very appreciative for their constant support and guidance during the good times and the rough tjmes.

We hold tight in our hearts 🥰 our beautiful clients who have befriend me and my staff over the past seven years (and those who were my stationery brides earlier on). I speak my heart with every first baby that is born and the joy I see in so many of the families that we had a small part in the making of that special day.

To those vendors that have been with us through our growth and supported us “in the good times and the rough ones” I applaud your hearts and humanity. We love ❤️ the work we do together and thank you for your partnership. I look forward to continued growth and joy for many years to come.

We will be of course having an open house for all our past brides, moms and families as well as others in the industry.

As we get ready to move into our new 3,100 square foot location in Newtown CT (yes an antique house!) we need to move out some of our off the rack dresses for brides and moms that are on a little bit of a budget.
Our bridal dresses will start at $500.00 and go up from there and moms will be 30% off these are on select dresses and will be Cash and Carry only (of course unless you want us to have them cleaned = we offer those services as well). If you know anyone that is getting married in the near future now is the time for them to get an awesome deal on a dress. We move the end of the month and this will allow us more space as well in our new location.

There are several people who know we have been on the search for a new location for a long time. Probably at least 3 or more years. We were even going to open up a second location in Westchester, NY, but that didn’t happen as we were about to sign a lease just as the pandemic news started happening.

I have always believed that things happen for a reason some good and some bad. I am lucky that I didn’t make a move any earlier. To many things happened personally to our family that I was not the mindset for change.

I was miserable with every retail space we were offered - even if it was a “good deal” - it didn’t speak to me. I tried on several occasions to talk myself into places but couldn’t bring myself to sign the lease. We tried buying an inn - that took up over a year of negotiations and after a hand shake deal the owner backed out. I was heartbroken 💔 but again, it was not meant to be.

Then suddenly at the first of the year the house I have eyeballed for years came available. it was as warm and inviting in the inside as I had hoped it would be. I love the architecture of this old house 🏡 and can’t wait for us to move in May! Enjoy photos as we transform the space.

Thank you to all the brides and families that are part of our family. You give us joy 🥹 your referrals and friendship have made our first 7 years as a bridal salon the best ever.

As we move into our larger space we are looking forward to servicing more brides and moms & families as well as our business clients with our promotional products company ( ) ( yes we will have an upstairs showroom) - I don’t think I have been this excited in years.

We will have three viewing rooms downstairs for brides. We will have off the rack dresses upstairs along with moms, invitations and favors and branded merchandise as well as some other surprises coming…stay tuned….

Ah let me tell you a quick story of how I got into bridal.

Back in 2007, one of my Persnickety Promotions clients ( a big skin care company located in CT) worked with me with branded merchandise. The buyer’s daughter was getting married and he asked me if I would do her wedding invitations. Of course I said yes as I had done my own back I. 2001.

Once I completed her beautiful invites I thought 💭 gee I would have fun doing this on the side. So I put an ad in The Knot and went to bridal shows and brides and grooms and their parents made appointments at my house to do invitations.

Then one day, one of my high end clients ( she was a jeweler in a very wealthy town) came to me and said “you should open a bridal shop”. “I went to a bridal shop and spent $6,000 - and she was appalled at the service she received. I won’t go into details but she was very unhappy. ☹️

In any event - after hearing this out of a few clients I decided when my youngest daughter was old enough to get on the bus by herself - I would open the shop. My grandmother 👵 had been a seamstress and lived with us - so I watched her for years - I mean seriously 😐 how hard could all of this be??

Just a “Sunday pull off the plethora of pictures”.

So many people have asked how I got from consulting and book and music representation, to branded merchandise to wedding stationery to bridal dresses. Three completely different businesses.

Now why is a picture of my daughter in a communion dress above. Well because that is the last dress I made - which reminded me how much I loved 🥰 to craft and sew.

People that come to our shop hear about my grand-mere Eulalie, who was a talented seamstress, and taught me how to sew, crochet, knit and petite point. My hands were always crafting as a child. Grand-mere was meticulous with her work and god did she love good fabrics.

When my eldest daughter Isabella had her communion, I made her this dress ( also worn here by Aeryn three years later). I made a long communion dress of Deponi Silk with a Peter Pan color. Then I created a hand beaded Bolero jacket and a double tier veil with a little bit of lace along the end of it. This year I have promised myself that I am going to sew again for enjoyment.

Now we do make sure that each of our clients go to awesome seamstresses in the area. An amazing seamstress is worth their weight in gold. We are proud 🥹 of our fine list of talent. We want our clients to have a seamless experience. So from the beautiful dresses that I hand select with gorgeous fabrics to the talent we pass our clients to - a fabulous experience is all we ever want for our clients.
