I don’t often take time to really “play” with flowers, as people often tend to think I do. Arranging for someone else and their expectations vs slowly creating just to create with intentionality, focusing on composition and texture and movement, are two separate ball games most of the time. While I always strive to achieve a client’s wishes, vision, & desires, one of my goals for 2023 is to continue to create a brand of florals that merges these two aspects together. Where folks seek out our work because they place trust in creative license and value originality. More freedom = better work! So I say, more of this in 2023! ✨💕🍊

Oh how true this has proven to be in the past few weeks for me! I’m so overjoyed to announce that after close to ten years of my life spent climbing the professional job ladder and working with and learning from so many great people, I’ve finally taken the biggest leap of faith and jumped ship to work from home full time, on my own schedule, so I can focus more on continuing to grow and build this love child business. The time felt so ripe for change with the holidays and engagement season upon us, not to mention a dream wedding I’ve been working on all year coming up in the next month. I can’t wait to see what happens next and am grateful to everyone who helped me get to here.

Pretty pumped about my most recent splurge vs steal score I found on a while ago that recently came back in stock! Love the look of this rattan basket-style console table as an entry focal point behind my sofa. Did a quick style because I just couldn’t wait and because I love being able to unpack all of my decor that’s been in storage so long - like this vintage wine jug from ! So far decor in the house is pretty scarce and random, but as more furniture is slowly arriving / being picked out, it’s fun to see these little spaces start to come together after months of planning and waiting!🌿💕
PS - peep those peonies I found at our local Publix on Friday! Run, don’t walk, people! 🌸 🏃♀️
When people ask what a “full service planner” does? All. The. Things. I’ve even been a licensed officiant in the great state of California 🤪. Okay, it was only for a day, but boy was it the most special day! When one of my very best friends, Nicole, called me to chat about her wedding that had plans change 3 times due to covid, I blurted out immediately “YES I WILL HELP YOU PLAN AND DO FLORALS AND DESIGN!!” Except she responded that they wanted to ask if I would be the one to officiate their ceremony. I asked, “you mean in a funny way?! Like your funny Southern friend?” 😂 And when she cried, I cried. What an honor it was to not only witness these two finally becoming husband and wife, but to have the joy of making their day beautiful as well. A labor of love I would do a thousand times over. But the very best part of this intimate rooftop ceremony? Their daughter, sweet little Charlotte, stealing the show and standing with her parents with the happiest smile as they made their vows and said “I do.” Congratulations, Nicole & Chris. I love you and your precious family dearly! 💕

Happy Saturday Folks! We are getting ready to spend some *socially distanced* time outside this afternoon, but wanted to throw it back to this sweet little day. My mini assistant turned 4 two weeks ago & of course I had been planning and crafting for her Baby Doll Brunch / tea party for weeks when the world came to a crashing halt. The room was already set and I had everything ready to go, so rather than crush my sweet girls (okay and mine, too) party dreams, we just scaled WAY back and made the best of it! We had an intimate all day and overnight celebration with our family with baby dolls and balloons everywhere & she was just as thrilled. Still finding joy in celebrating & creating even amidst the craziness we are living in - I challenge everyone else to do the same!
Have I mentioned how much I love this venue? It’s truer than true! Have I also mentioned how much I love these oak trees? Conversation and lounge areas arranged under them made for the perfect respite for guests. As the sun went down, my most favorite part of this wedding - those vintage, crystal, ship chandeliers! - lit up and glowed beneath the dripping moss. It was a romantic fairytale, I tell ya! Pretty sure Noah from The Notebook would’ve even approved of this scene.

A sunset ceremony with this view - one of my favorite spots in our little town. We didn’t want to take away from it too much, but when I found this beautiful twig arbor, I knew we had to do something special on it. With the amazing help of my dear friend Austin of .co, we created the perfect install that still gives me the feels.

So excited for this big girl version of Lola’s lavender room to come to life! A softer shade of the purple that used to be on her walls combined with a mix of youthful and more “grown up” style furniture, helps transition her little princess room into one that she can grow with. Obsessed with this Serena & Lily look-for-less bed I found on (after I noticed the other week that her old spindle bed I thought I salvaged had indeed grown some lovely mildew and mold stains from the flood that just couldn’t be cleaned out)! And of course one (of the two 🤪) sets of these fun lamps I scored at ! Determined to have a similar portrait of Lola’s beloved bunny, “Bubba,” commissioned for above her bed - hint hint 😘. Maximalism: Guilty as charged. 💁🏻♀️😍 Loved creating this ceremony arch for Brittany & Travis last week at The Bragg! Fun fact: I was the flower girl in a wedding at this same venue back in 1998 for my sister’s wedding & she ended up coming to help me with this arch, so talk about full circle! 💕
