Weddings can carry a lot of environmental impact, but you don’t have to sacrifice your vision to make your day a little greener! Scroll through for sustainable wedding tips!
Decor: Rather than buying new single-use items like votive candles, table numbers, plastic plates & flatware and decorations, we recommend you rent, thrift, or choose all-inclusive vendors who offer in-house decor. Ask your coordinator if they carry their own inventory of decorations. If you purchase your own decor, find ways to give it a second life by donating or selling it after the wedding.
Invites: Send evites & digital save-the-dates or source sustainable recycled paper materials.
Florals: Ask your florist about local, seasonal blooms and rent or thrift vases to avoid material waste. Repurpose arrangements from your ceremony to your reception and gift arrangements to your guests at the end.
Transportation: Encourage your guests to carpool and find vendors who are within the metropolitan area of your venue when possible.
Catering: Have your leftover reception food boxed to go or donated and avoid single-use plastics. Bring your own containers to carry food home!
