We are a two floor venue located in the historic river district in downtown Richmond, Va. The main entrance is on 17th Street near the corner with Cary Street.

The building sits at the corner of 17th Street and Cary Street directly across the street from the restored Kanawa Canal and The Canal Walk. We feature national, regional and local acts on a weekly basis. Check our calendar for details. Our shows are all ages unless noted. The upstairs is our big room and features national acts. The downstairs is a smaller 450 capacity room. It offers a more intim

The Flood Zone came to life in 1985 as a performing arts center, live venue, and recording studio in Richmond. By 1996, it had changed the music landscape of Downtown Richmond.

People from the DMV and beyond made the pilgrimage to Richmond to come to The Flood Zone. The Flood Zone was the epicenter of the live music and nightclub scene. High-caliber artists from Dave Matthews Band to The Ramones came through its doors.

Come celebrate that history with the people that were pivotal and instrumental in bringing dance music to the forefront of RVA. We look forward to seeing old friends, making new friends and remembering the music that influenced a generation in our humble backyard.

To our wonderful customers and bands - it has been far too long since we last saw you! We could not be more excited to officially reopen July 9th, 2021. Here is our current calendar, plus more to be announced soon! Per CDC guidelines, we will request that non-vaccinated patrons wear a mask. All events this Summer will be in our large room, for all customers to practice distancing at their comfort level.

We hope that you are as excited as we are. Thank you for your support and patience during this extremely trying 16 months, and we will see you at the show!
