Tame the Flame BBQ BBQ Competition Team This adventure started with a little propane smoker my parents got me for Christmas a while back.

After posting a picture of something i was making on twitter, Masterbuilt (smoker and fryer makers) messaged me back and suggested I enter their March Madness contest. So i entered the nation competition with my pork rib recipe. To advance you had to be voted through by the public, in which I made it to the final. Once that was achieved the company and the CEO of Masterbuilt actually made the top

two recipes and voted on them. I was declared the winner by phone by the CEO! Since then, I've cooked for small parties and family. I love the process of BBQ to find just the right flavor. I love reading and studying the art of smoking and barbecuing. Most importantly, i love serving people great flavored food that makes them happy. A smile, a raised eyebrow in delight or just a friendly nod is all i need to make my day complete. I'm extremely excited to take this to the next level and provide my clients with some great food "rubbed" with some extra TLC.

‘Twas quite the long weekend….

Was in a wedding Friday night for Raymond Shalvoy. Congrats little boy!

After a long fun night, woke up at 6am, packed the rig and headed down to the Rally in the Valley Rib Off in Hemlock NY.

Such a great time and met even more great people in the western NY bbq community.

We were fortunate to walk away with 1st 🥇 place on the day!

Had such a great time at the Lima Crossroads Festival Rib Fest!!

I missed my full team throughout the day. This was the first comp we’ve done solo. It was bittersweet though, I got to spend the day with my wife Stacy Kiefer doing what I love and developed such a passion for. Luckily a handful of the team came at turn in to show the love. I can’t express the level of support that’s given to us from family, friends, sponsors, and other competitors. BBQ is supposed to be fun, always remember that. (Even if I look serious and stressed! 😬)

Tame the Flame BBQ been perfecting BBQ for over 10 years. Last year, Brian and his crew decided to test their skills in the competitive BBQ scene.

After competing in two summer events in 2023, they wrapped up their rookie season with FOUR awards:

Our 1st ever competition on July 22nd at Smoke in the Valley '23

The team walked on an 8th place pork call and a 4th place ribs call. We were 6th out of 24 teams overall.
