Join us for Freestyle - A Hip Hopera, Saturday, June 22 starting at 7:30 PM.
Poetically, Hip hop female vocalist, Yvonne accompanied by instruments articulate narratives that break the fourth wall. Socially confined to 2-dimensional characters, Yvonne adds her perspective to set the record straight! Courageously, the cast invites the audience to joyfully journey through the challenging events of the past in pursuit of Peace, Love, and the absolute Truth. Through a ca****la tunes, motivated movements, and tasteful rhythms, the Hip Hopera, Freestyle, provokes, inspires, and encourages the listener to experience liberation.

Here's an idea! The Clark Cabaret is excited to welcome back Julie Roland () and Stu Shames (stushames) for Just An Idea! Join us Just An Idea on Saturday, June 8 starting at 9:30 PM, a one-woman show starring Julie Roland and Stu Shames on the piano. We can’t wait to laugh and share space with all of you!

Julie Roland is an active duty Navy helicopter pilot moonlighting as the sole actor in this one-woman improvised musical. She is accompanied by one-man: Stu Shames, the pianist! Together they bring your suggestions to life, incorporating your ideas as they brainstorm the next Tony award-winning musical in front of your eyes.

You can decide the setting, name the characters, throw wrenches into the plot, and more, as Julie and Stu find ways to weave the entire story together in 45 minutes of hilarious fun. By the end, you’ll really imagine that what began as just an idea is destined for Broadway.

After working with Diversionary Theatre for several years, Linus is excited to be hosting Q***r Youth Karaoke, and hopes to see a lot of familiar faces! Linus has always enjoyed the space that Diversionary provides to q***r youth, and champions this space as a great place to meet new people and have fun! Q***r Youth Karaoke (QYK) returns for Pride Month! Join us for QYK - Anthems: Free to be me! TransFamily Support Services Guest MC: Joscelyn Inton-Campbell, TFSS Youth Program Manager will be providing materials to help craft your own pins, stickers, and other goodies.

Our monthly Q***r Youth Karaoke event is a space offered to all LGBTQIA+ and allied youth & teens to come together! Diversionary Theatre’s aim is to foster connection and belonging by facilitating a space and event where LGBTQIA+ youth & teens feel compelled to engage and connect with one another in meaningful experiences. Diversionary Theatre proudly partners with other community organizations for this event. The Q***r Youth Karaoke event is also an opportunity for LGBTQIA+ youth & teens to meet Diversionary staff and teaching artists–thriving LGBTQIA+ artists, theatre practitioners, & [above all] whole human beings.

In honor of the world premiere musical we will be doing a movie screening of Catching Sight of Thelma & Louise, A Documentary by Far Beyond Film. Join us, Monday May 20 at 7 PM for a screening of the documentary Catching Sight of Thelma & Louise (2017), where we will be joined by the film’s director, Jennifer Townsend, for a Q&A following the movie.
