I’ve given away 100’s of cookbooks. Some from the mid to early 1900’s. This is the last of them. I’ve kept about 75 cookbooks. Some like to watch movies, go to the mall or go out with friends. When I have spare time I like to read a good cookbook.

If you don’t know let me tell you. Whenever we have hot dogs, polish dogs, hot links, glizzys or whatever you call them. I always make a hot dog bar with almost every topping you can think of. A coworker recently said mustard does not belong on a hot dog. He eats his bun and dog only. That’s it. What’s a perfect hot dog for you?

If you love hummus and are ever able to check out Dish n Dash they have the best hummus IMO. I need to perfect my version. I heard you should remove the outer shell of the bean for a smoother texture. Add tahini & cumin as a base then build from there.

I told one of my employees about the butter cake at Lazy Dog. It’s amazing. That’s the only place I will order dessert from. Just so happens Crumbl dropped their version. She sent me a pack this morning. They were delivered warm. It’s actually pretty good.

Had Vietnamese for lunch today. I always order Bun Bo Hue which is a spicy lemongrass soup. I get half the noodles, no pork blood, I don’t eat the meat but I do get extra tendon.

Good morning & Happy Friday!

This is day 5 for me of eating only fruits and veggies. Not with salt chamoy or tajin. Some veggies steamed and some raw. Not stir fried or deep fried. No salt pepper butter or any type of seasoning. Water and tea only with nothing added at all. Could you challenge yourself? I do this periodically. It shows how strong you can be if you put forth the effort. Be blessed ❤️

This meal is from a Mongolian grill restaurant. They have 2 options. Lunch is limited to 1 bowl. Dinner is AYCE(all you can eat) and it’s only a few dollars more. For those who don’t know - you place the meat and veggies in a bowl with an assortment of sauces, garlic, ginger and oil and the cook places it on a huge round hot flat top grill and cooks it right there in front of you.

Time saving tip for potatoes. Steam them in the microwave. Then place on a cookie sheet with your choice of oil or even non stick spray. Then season them well & place in oven to roast them and crisp up the bottoms and enjoy 🫶🏾

One of my favorite meals. My dad would literally drive across town just for 1 of my sandwiches. I miss him so much. He would call me and say what are you cooking today or he would say Shawny can you make me a sandwich and I never said no to any of his requests.

Sadly this has been reduced to a treat for me.
