Dear Friends,
This channel has been very quiet because we’re on (indefinite) hiatus. Glenn now lives in Whitehorse and Chris has been busy pursuing his own music career. However, Chris has recently discovered Root Dwellers, an excellent local talent showcase that he’s supporting by doing sound. He encourages you to get your live music fix by coming out to a Root Dwellers event. Next one is at Spade Cafe (on Commercial) March 8th.

Root Dwellers Music Showcase is held monthly at The Anza Club in Mount Pleasant (3 West 8th Ave)

Came across this fantastic photo taken at last year's season finale when we presented a cheque for over $1000 to Crisis Centre BC. Oh, The Prophouse Cafe, we miss you. Join us for this year's end-of-season soiree and cheque presentation to First Call: BC Child and Youth Advocacy Coalition, Wed 17th Dec at Cottage Bistro. 12 singer-songwriters performing in-the-round and all bringing merch to sell so you can give the gift of local music this Christmas. All proceeds from raffle and donations will be added to the First Call pot. FB event at https://www.facebook.com/events/1577022992511456/

Thanks to Will George & Steve Wimperly, Sinead Sanders, and Andre Chrys for sharing their wonderful music last night. It was a small, appreciative crowd, and the raffle raised $90 for First Call bringing us to a total of $400. Thanks again to Bonerattle Music, Dominion Blue Reprographics, and CiTR Radio 101.9FM for their continued support. Due to The Prohouse closing at the end of October, we will probably bring the season to an early close and restart at a new venue in January. Watch this space for details of some sort of end of season finale.

The Glenn Chatten Band rocked Cafe Deux Soleils last night at the first ever "Music Drive," and the sound was fantastic! And Bre MacDaniel sure can sing. Man there's some serious talent in this city, and we're gonna bring it to The Drive big time. "Music Drive" is 1st Wednesday of the month, so watch this space to see who's playing the next one on March 5th.

Thanks to Jesse Tollestrup, Ross Fairbairn, and The Honeyflowers for kicking off Takin' Turns 2014 in such style. It was a very entertaining evening. And good news on the sponsorship front: Bonerattle Music has agreed to support the event all year by donating a prize every month to the First Call raffle, and CiTR and Dominion Blue Reprographics have pledged their continued support as well. We hope you can make it out to the next show on February 26th; it's gonna be wicked!
