“January looks forward to the new year and back to the old year. He sees past and future.” - M.L. Stedman

As well as planning 2024’s weddings in these quiet January weeks I’ve also been enjoying looking back at the year that was 2023. I’ll never not like a snap of all the bouquets bunched together like this one, just before they go off to the bridal party.

In 2024 I’m open to orders for whole wedding flowers and we’ll as just bridal party flowers so if you would like Bouquets for Days to create your wedding ceremony flowers (bouquets, buttonholes, flower crowns, fresh confetti, the list goes on!) then get in touch via my website (linked above) or drop me a message on here!

Keeping it seasonal in the depths of a storm-filled winter, I’m choosing to work with dried flowers.

Bunny tail grasses, blue thistles, Eucalyptus & Honesty together make a cute combination for button holes, full of texture and visual interest.

Check out the dried flower shop on my website (link in bio) for more of my dried flower creations and get in touch with any special requests.

Did you know this week is National Tree Week?

I didn’t either! But now that I do know, it seems like a fitting time to announce that for every bridal bouquet AND every x10 shop bouquets that I sell here at Bouquets for Days in 2024, I will be donating for to plant a tree.

“By planting thousands of urban trees each year in the UK and around the world, Trees for Cities is building resilience within urban communities against threats facing the natural environment… Without urban trees, our physical and mental health are all affected, and our connection with nature becomes lost.” - Trees for Cities.

I’m so excited for the prospect of Bouquets for Days customers bringing about some positive environmental change in the fight against ecological collapse.

Trees also make a dramatic addition to any indoor space be it for any kind of event and especially a wedding aisle. The wedding pictured took place right at the very start of Spring, meaning that it wasn’t guaranteed that any leaves would be in bloom at the time of the wedding itself! A nerve wracking prospect so we opted for Silver Birch trees to ensure there was drama in the bark even if the leaves weren’t there but as luck would have it they started to appear just in time! ⚡️ Zinnias ⚡️

October’s spotlight flower on my Seasonal Flower Guide is the fabulous Zinnia and it seemed only logical to enlist a guest blogger from Bristol flower farm The Wild Zinnia to write this one.

So a huge thank you to Debs for sharing a bit about what makes this flower excellent.

Follow the link my bio to read the post and give a follow for plenty of flowery goodness in your feed.

Freelancing for the other day I had the joy of making this disco themed bar arrangement (🪩🤩🪩🤩) and when loading up the van we realised it matched perfectly with Justin - my ridiculously square & turquoise car that provides much amusement but to his credit he’s safely got me all across the South West all summer and usually just in time because he’s so zippy! He’s earned his spot on the grid, cheers Justin 🚙

Sometimes when you do a flower delivery the palette goes just perfectly with the door and it’s magic 👌

These are some of my favourite flower & Bristol door (house) combos from over the years that I’ve dug out of my camera reel.

Is there anything better to open the door to besides a sea of flowers? Maybe don’t answer that one… deliveries will be on again next week! See my webshop for dates and to pop any purchases through.

Let’s hear it for the Dahlias! What a beautiful season it’s been for them. Thank you to all the local suppliers who’ve grown some absolute gems for me to work with, all the couples who’ve wholeheartedly embraced Dahlias in their wedding flowers, and all the bouquet orders I’ve been able to pop these beauties into.

Here’s hoping we’ve got a little while longer before they’re taken out by the first frost 🤞

Who’d like to see Dahlias in weekly bouquet deliveries in October?

When you’re a little independent business it’s not every day that an order from the Beckhams lands in your inbox… but one did in mine the other week 🤯 so for this super special bespoke gift bouquet I sourced all locally grown blooms for a classic white & green mix that included beautifully scented Garden Roses, Jasmine, and Sweet Peas too (thank you ). Today’s the first Saturday in a while that I haven’t been hard at work in a sea of flowers, I actually have today off. So here’s a throw back to working for at her gorgeous flower-filled photoshoot earlier this year on a sunny Spring day at Botleys Mansion.

Would you help a girl out with some Bristol brunch recommendations in the comments? I need to make the most of this!

💐 Weekly Flower Deliveries 💐

It’s been a busy month of working on weddings and photo shoots but alongside this, bouquets are well and truly back at Bouquets for Days. So if you’re looking for a weekly flower fix then look no further.

Bouquets come in 2 sizes: Everyday for your every day, treat yourself and bring a bit of Spring into your home. Or Special Day for something more luxe, a beautiful gift for a special moment.

Order online (link in bio) by midday Wednesday to make the weekly cut off. Deliveries go out across Bristol every Thursday via carbon neutral cycle team or you can request a collection from BS5 if that’s preferable/you’re out of the delivery zone and that can be arranged.

There’s also a subscription option if you want regular flowers in your life. 3 month or 6 month options available and if you want the 6 month option then be quick as these will start the first week of May!

DM with any special requests 💐

Stepping into the new month with a new post on the Seasonal Flower Guide and for April I am thrilled to have a guest writer.

Sarah of Compton Garden Flowers is one of my local suppliers and she’s very kindly compiled a post on Anemones. Have a read and learn about these beautiful flowers from a professional grower. Find the blog on my website linked in my bio and I’ll also share a link in my stories.

Keep an eye on account to see Sarah’s beautiful Anemones blooming this month.

Thank you Sarah for taking time to be involved with the blog and for sharing some of your wisdom!

Blossom for daaaaaaays.

Spring is finally here which means it’s also finally blossom season and for a limited time only, I’m going to be stocking bundles of blossom branches available for delivery across Bristol.

To keep it interesting I’m going to be sourcing a different variety each week and kicking things off will be Quince Blossom (pictured).

Nothing quite cuts through the grey of an April shower filled sky like the coral charm of Quince Blossom flowers.

Order now for delivery on Thursday 6th April.

As always, link to shop in bio and DM with any special requests or queries.
