Just to let our loyal customers know that due to a staff member recently having had surgery The Little Griddle Cafe Newton House is short staffed at the moment, we thank you all for your patience and support, Trish, Caroline and Clare are working their socks off but there may be the odd lunchtime when we have to put a slight wait on food but they will certainly get to you as soon as possible. The Little Griddle Cafe have been chosen to be a part of this amazing initiative. Talkin Tables was set up during lockdown (via telephone at first) loneliness is a terrible thing and if we can encourage just one person to feel comfortable enough to walk into our little cafe and have a slice of cake and a coffee, but more importantly, come and chat in an inclusive environment, with friendly people then that means one hour less of loneliness. This will launch at 10.30 on 18th October Newton House and will continue every Wednesday 10.30-11.30. If you are struggling and are not too sure how you feel about stepping into an unfamiliar place on your own take that first step and come and sit and have a coffee and get to meet some really lovely, kind welcoming people

Next Wednesday and Thursday The Little Griddle will be doing our busiest event of the year, Rickerby’s Agriculture Show, it has been 3 years since the event has taken place due to Covid and we are expecting to feed a lot of people. It’s a great couple of days but we couldn’t do it without the help of some amazing people, our fantastic team who have been with us since the very start, Caterbirds Catering Equipment, Sarah the baker from Morrisons and the team at Bookers. Thank you all and it would be great to see some familiar faces down there!

Another great week at The Little Griddle Cafe, we are now starting to see a steady stream of new customers through our doors, all thanks to Joan and Louise who have been tirelessly dropping off our leaflets around the local industrial estate. We do a fantastic all day breakfast and some daily specials - next week is lasagna, salad and garlic bread and Cumberland ring, mash, peas & gravy. Come and give us a try, if you are in a hurry ring your order in and we’ll have it ready for you. Thank you all for your continued support

Well this is it, last shift until Christmas for The Little Griddle Cafe, feeding the wonderful residents and their families Christmas dinner and then off for a few days. Me and Steve would like to wish our amazing customers a very happy and healthy Christmas and new year, we can’t believe the support you have all shown us this year and especially over the last 4 weeks. Christmas opening hours for The Little Griddle Cafe at Newton House - we close on Friday 23rd after Christmas dinner and will open back up at 9am on Wednesday 28th, close again on Friday 30th at 2pm and will open again on Tuesday 3rd January.
