“Finding out I was unexpectedly pregnant again at 45, I knew this would be my last pregnancy and I wished to find a way to both celebrate and remember this moment in time forever.

Having trusted Sheryl to capture various moments over the last 10 years (seasonal family shoots, dog shoots, and a bo***ir shoot) she was the obvious choice to ask to capture this precious time.

I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted from a pregnancy photoshoot, those closest to me rolled their eyes worrying that the idea was ‘cheesy’ but I knew I could trust Sheryl with my vision to celebrate what my body was doing whilst capturing my femininity in a timeless, empowering and classy way, utilising her signature style of freelensing.

During the shoot at her studio, Sheryl made me feel comfortable, relaxed and beautiful throughout and I really enjoyed the experience. There was no waiting around, just efficient set up changes and clear instruction throughout.

The photographs exceeded my expectations and were better than I could have hoped, perfectly capturing my pregnancy in an ethereal and stylish way, that even those that had been sceptical previously loved and my partner described as magical and sexy!

Hi! I’m Sheryl!
I’m 42, I’ve been shooting weddings since 2014 so I’m 10 trips around the sun with you guys.

I bought my first DSLR after a friend took some lovely pics of my son and myself one sunny afternoon at Cotswolds Water Park.
I was amazed at the depth and clarity and knew it was so much nicer than what my phone could take… this was 2011. Phone cameras were basic to say the least. I think I may still have been on a blackberry!!

My first camera was a Nikon D7000 with a kit lens. I shot on all the auto settings but it was love at first sight!

I used to sing Bailey BooBooBoooobalooooos when bouncing my baby, so when I started a photography page for fun, Oobaloos Photography was born.

Over the years I’ve tested a few ‘grown up’ business names but as he was my muse, we always come back to Oobaloos.

I’m mum to him, wife to Mr K, and furmum to Kodi, Remi, Pumpkin and Cosmo.

I’m also one half of n sound doggy day care which, since post wedding season covid burn out , I work Monday to Friday with my husband.

Moving forward, I only take wedding bookings at weekends, bank holidays and the Twixmas period! These are now at a discounted rate which is unusual for most photographers as these are PEAK dates.

If you’re still reading, it’s a good time to note that I’m not your usual photographer. I’m ex professional performer and entertainer. I used to be a personal trainer and class teacher too. I take no prisoners.

I can herd groups of people with fun, banter and authority and guaranteed to have your guests in stitches! I may fly a little close to the bark but I will always make you feel at ease!

So this is me.

I’ve been doing this over a decade

I’ve shot well over 400 weddings

I’ve worked with families from maternity until past their kids going to school and beyond.

I’ve trained extensively in studio lighting and posing.

I’ve won countless awards.

No, it don’t sit on TikTok and I don’t make reels and I don’t chase followers and hashtags. I really can’t be arsed!

I’ve always welcomed the shadows in my work, they add depth and contrast to the warmth of the light.

Pooches aren’t compulsory but they do help. Especially if you feel a little self conscious having your photo taken. Pets and props and other people give you natural interactions for gorgeous smiles.

Guess who is back wielding the camera in the studio?!

After a HUGE break from all types of photography, I’m gradually making my way back, mainly because of the amazing people who won’t ever EVER let me stop 😝

It’s quite easy to twist my arm to shoot whatever you need if you just ask nicely 😜

First newborn back in the studio for ages, and lovely to see her 19 month old big brother who was also one of my newborn shoots!

No filter, this is me, hot and sweaty after ramping the heating up to 23 degrees for the baby!

Oh, ps… 40lbs down today!

"As soon as we got engaged we knew we wanted Sheryl to photograph our wedding having seen friends and families wedding photos and falling in love with her photography style.

Sheryl bought so much energy, fun and happiness, putting everyone at ease in front of the lens. Sheryl even let us cover her in champagne to get some super fun champagne shots.

We had our sneak peak images the next day and the pictures did not disappoint and made us so excited to get our entire gallery.

Sheryl is worth every single penny. She captured all the unplanned moments, all the small details we spent hours planning, as well all the money shots we had hoped for with our choreographed first dance, champagne sprays, the death slide, dips and lifts and fireworks.

I cannot recommend Sheryl enough, an absolute pro, a pair of safe hands, and someone who will be an absolute vibe and hype woman for you on your special day."

It’s me! 👋 hi! I’m Sheryl Oobaloos.
The elusive face behind the camera!

I’m a 42 years young, never felt like an adult yet. My amazing husband of 12 years is the adult to me and our 11 year old son and 4 dogs!

We have Kodi, nearly 7, a Saint Bernard x Newfoundland, Remi the Jack Russell x Yorkie who is 5, Pumpkin, my problem child, 15 month old Bernese Mountain Dog, and the whirlwind that is Cosmo, a 6 month of Pug x poodle.

I’ve been shooting weddings since 2014 all over England and won a ‘few’ awards, features and accolades in that time!

I spent many a year shooting 40+ weddings a year but since the pandemic backlog has ceased, I’ve reduced that to under 15 and mainly at the venues where I’m a preferred/recommended supplier as these places are so very good to me!

I don’t ever say I’m invisible at a wedding. I’m VERY involved, like to make you laugh, steal you away to find amazing light but always make sure you have plenty of time with your guests.

Also, I just got Varifocals. So that means I’m old now right?!

Quiet moments getting ready.

I’m so happy that people are asking to see FULL galleries when enquiring. As artists we are all guilty of just showcasing the showstoppers and big moments on social media. After all, we are fighting the algorithm to create something to stop the eye scrolling.

But a wedding is so much more than the big moments. In fact I find the quiet moments much more powerful.

So when you ask to see full galleries I’m delighted to go through my archives of weddings I have permission to share and if I don’t have one from your particular venue, I will try to find one of a similar vibe and time of year for you!

So happy to have delivered this gallery to L&O and they LOVE it so much! It’s super crazily nerve wracking sending the final product over, especially after the last few years of covid crazy, burnout, and the industry having such a hard time and people forgetting we are HUMANS doing our very very best. Some people forgot how to ‘people’ and be kind. It’s just made me cherish the kind people that much more!
