Alongside my own wedding work, I’m so excited to share that I’ll be joining up with the fabulous Nicola] this season!

The Flower Tree is a Somerset based flower farm. They grow a huge variety of unique, seasonal and garden fresh flowers and foliage for weddings, working naturally and chemical free.

I will be their in-house wedding florist, creating bouquets and arrangements to compliment their diy buckets.

Having begun our floral adventures around the same time we have championed each other’s businesses from the start, with Nicola providing flowers for many of my weddings but also directing her brides to me. It seemed a natural progression to pull it all together under one roof!

Starting the new year with a photo from one of my favourite weddings last year.

It’s been a long while since I’ve posted but last year was certainly a busy one! Keep an eye out for my posts this week with some exciting news for the year ahead!

This is Nicola, looking gorgeous with her bouquet of stunning spring blooms. It was such a magical brief to work on, with Nicola and Jim wanting the flowers to take centre stage at one of my favourite venues 🌸

This was the ceremony set up at the gorgeous last weekend, it was such a beautiful wedding to flower. After the ceremony the arch and urns were moved outside to provide a frame for the pictures and then to the top table to as a surround for the bride and groom.

Floral urns ... still one of my favourites designs to to create, and so brilliant for repurposing throughout your day.
Full of seasonal locally grown September blooms, these two large urns worked hard all day at Charlotte and Matthews wedding back in September. First creating an entrance, then a frame for the photos before being moved to the Bamfylde Hall for the evening party 🕺🏻💃🏼🥂
Note: We also had to work hard moving them around 😉

🌿Hestercombe Gardens🌿

I’m lucky enough to to have flowered some of the most stunning venues in Somerset and Devon over the past few years
Hestercombe Gardens was one of the first I got to flower and remains a firm favourite of mine.
The beautiful Orangery at Hestercombe is such a magical space ✨the lighting and ambience is just incredible. Full on florals or paired back and minimal, elegant and neutral or wild and colourful, the space welcomes either.
The mantle, and the fonts either side, provide a perfecting setting for beautiful floral backdrops for the ceremony and arrangements can easily be moved to the Bamfylde Hall for the wedding breakfast.
Large urns of seasonal spring delights, naturally styled, sat in each font beside a full length mantle arrangement for my first wedding at Hestercombe this year. Can’t wait to get back for many more weddings this year 💚🌿

🌿💚Locally Grown💚🌿

It’s so good to see a surge in ethical and eco wedding flowers and more and more brides working with sustainable floristry to help keep their bouquets and floral arrangements eco-friendly. Rather than flying in unseasonal blooms, brides are preferring to choose seasonal British grown flowers to keep their carbon footprint low.

I like to use locally grown flowers in all of my designs, wherever possible, most often those grown very locally to me by Nikki
We started our floral adventures around the same time so have been very supportive of each others businesses from the beginnings

By using seasonal and locally grown you will not only be lowering your carbon footprint, your floral arrangements will look more natural and whimsical, kind of ‘perfectly Imperfect’, and they will sit seamlessly in their setting, echoing what is growing outside at the time of your wedding. Definitely a win win I’d say 💚🌿🌸

Well there are a good few things......but getting to know my couples, working with them to design and create all the floral elements that reflect and celebrate their personalities and help make their big day special is at the heart of it all.
And then seeing the flowers in action, well the sense of fulfilment is immense 🌿💕

✨What brought me to floristry✨

Having a background in fashion and textiles and then working in arts education for many years, I’ve always had a keen eye and love of creativity.
A few year ago I decided to combine all my creative passions and retrain as a florist; eager to pair my love of colour, shape and texture with my ongoing adoration for flowers.
A few years down the line now and I’m loving the wedding floral world; getting to know each of my couples, working with them to design and create all the floral elements to help make their big day special. Equally I love that I’m still forever learning, trying new things, making new connections and always so grateful for the inspiration, support and knowledge that I continue to gather from my fellow flowery friends and wedding suppliers; you all rock 😘

So Good To Be Back!

On Monday I got to flower my first wedding of the year 🙌
A huge congratulations to the lovely Sean and Rachida who got married in the beautiful orangery at Hestercombe Gardens.

It was such a pleasure to flower their intimate ceremony for them using a classic white and green colour palette and an abundance of gorgeous blooms, including ranunculus, anemone, hellebore, rose, skimmia and blossom.

Equally exciting to catch up with other wonderful suppliers at last! and who took these beautiful images!
