Join GeneractionJam for an exclusive post-Taraweeh event this Ramadan! Meet us at ShareTea on Friday, March 22nd, after prayer (from 10-1am) for refreshing boba and conversation!

We’d like to thank all of our partners this year by taking a moment to reset over boba, community conversations and islamic trivia! We couldn’t have sustained our program with the support of our performers and artists, community hosts, vendors, and guests. Thank you for sticking with us as we grow.

11/17 7-9pm: Community Mixer hosting vendors and artists. We are still pending confirmation from other vendors and will share them as they confirm. There will be complimentary drinks and refreshments courtesy of our sponsors: and In a Cup.

From 9-10:30p will be our usual open mic programming, featuring Sara Bawany and her newest book “Quarter Life Crisis”, and several other local artists and filmmakers. Sara’s book will be available for purchase on-site with 25% of proceeds supporting .

Join us on November 17th in celebration of .bawany newest release: Quarter Life Crisis. Sara will be sharing some of her most prominent pieces and donating a portion of book proceeds to IslamInSpanish as they rebuild.

We understand that there is so much happening around the world that it feels overwhelming and can be difficult to show up in person. We invite you to come as you are to sit in poetry and other performances and perhaps engage in the restorative practices of open mic communities. Introducing our June feature:

Muhammad Jibreel, founder of Engaging Imagery and Creator of Slick Wisdom Storytelling, is an African American educator, poet, mentor, and speaker, whose work is to encourage, teach, and inspire hurting hearts in the community.

He has been a dedicated teacher for over 20 years and is now looking to expand his reach to share his gift of storytelling with people all around the world.

At 51 years old, he still has a wandering childlike imagination and a curious fascination and love for nature. His life goal is to continually extract meanings from the tragedies and triumphs of the human experience, imbibe the universal wisdom, and transmit it on to the next generation.

Muhammad loves reading, writing, listening to and telling great stories. He uses various media outlets to express, educate, and convey wisdom that provokes natural and authentic emotions.

His works and who he is has always been inseparable. His vulnerability and willingness to share his journey is the charm that makes him so relatable and personable. He believes that individually, and collectively, we must break the boundaries and go deeper, if we are to remove the veils and uncover the truth of who we are.

His love of hip hop poetry, history, story, and spirituality all intersect in his art. He has a familiar folk tone that tells an old story in a new way.

He has recently been discovered by over 100k followers on TikTok. If you want to discover more, this would be a good place to start. He is under the moniker “Slick Wisdom”
