Exercise your right to vote: General Election this Tuesday

Reminder: Orange Beach residents vote at Event Center and Ono Island residents vote at Harriett Cockrell Center

The General Election, with our 47th President of the United States on the ballot, is this Tuesday, November 5th. All Orange Beach voters are reminded that we have a new polling place. Effective January 1, 2024, the new Precinct 41 polling site is the Orange Beach Event Center, 4671 Wharf Parkway West, The Community Center is no longer our polling site.

For residents on Ono Island, which is not part of the city, they now vote at Baldwin County Voting Precinct Number 51 at The Harriett Cockrell Center, 31692 Dolphin Drive.

First responder awards night planned for Nov. 4 at community potluck

The Orange Beach Community Association will honor Orange Beach first responders at the November Community Potluck on Monday, November 4th at 6 p.m. at the Community Center.

A police officer and a firefighter, as well as the police department's Civilian Employee of the Year, will be honored at the annual appreciation night.

The Monthly Community Potluck is open to anyone. It is requested that those attending bring a side dish or dessert, or a $5 donation if you are unable to bring a food item to contribute to the meal. November’s entrée is fried chicken.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Dinner starts at 6:30 and the program at 7 p.m.

The Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail Foundation will hold Treats on the Trail from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18th.

The trail of treats begins at the Orange Beach Sportsplex Trailhead, 4385 William Silvers Pkwy. There will be trick or treating, games, smores and more.

City staff enjoyed the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber's PowHER Hour during lunchtime today at the Orange Beach Event Center. PowHER Hour is geared toward bringing together women in our community in a positive and empowering atmosphere. The special guest was Dr. Valerie James with VisionSpot Consulting Group, who presented a program titled "LeadHERship: Mastering Brilliant Achievement (MBA) in Results."

Town Hall meeting set for August 6 as city celebrates 40th anniversary

Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon and the City Council invite the public to a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, August 6th at the Orange Beach Event Center.

The town hall will immediately follow the 5 p.m. City Council meeting and work session, which will also be at the Event Center.

The mayor will give a presentation on all of the latest updates on projects and programs in the city, including the future of The Wharf Landing property on the north side of the Intracoastal Waterway. The town hall will also highlight the city’s 40th anniversary of incorporation with free keepsakes to mark the occasion.

As with all city town hall meetings, after presentations are done the floor is open for anyone to ask questions.
