CPM Students and Friends! If you are someone who enjoys writing music for your instrument and would like to learn how to write for other instruments or arrange your music for other instruments, this is the workshop for you!

Fri Dec 18, 6:00pm - 8:00pm PST
Ages 13 - 18+ yrs
Learn how to take your musical ideas from ensemble to ensemble and write effectively for different instruments! This class is intended for folks who already have some experience writing music, but are interested in broadening the collection of instruments for which they feel comfortable writing. Students are encouraged but not required to share an example of their own music if they're comfortable with that material being used as an example during the class. If they're interested in doing so, they should contact the instructor, Wesley Price, to share their material once they've registered for the course.

Young musicians, check out this awesome band opportunity at Cathedral Park Performing Arts Collective! You literally build your own band. Join with friends or go in to meet all new friends. Play original music or covers and any instrument you feel most compelled to play (must have previous experience on the instrument you choose). Your rehearsals will be facilitated by local musician and music educator, Wes Price, who will provide feedback and help guide your group toward a performance at the end of each week. More info at cathedralparkarts.org.

Looking for more weeklong workshop fun? Check out our workshops! Led by teacher Wes Price, these workshops are a must-try for any students interested in starting their own band or joining our school-year Build-a-Band classes. Students in Build-a-Band work together to build their own multi-instrument ensemble. The workshop emphasizes creating music collaboratively with bandmates, and addresses composition and arrangement, band dynamics, rehearsal techniques, and performance. All instruments and voice types are welcome, and all students that meet the age and experience requirements are encouraged to join this one-of-a-kind workshop. Participants will perform in an in-class demo the last day of workshop.
