Hej! Introducing Jess Duckworth, the passionate artisan behind this small queer-owned business Hygge Home Goods. We first saw her candles at the Downtown SLC Farmer's Market and thought they would fit perfectly in our store.

"My mission is to create products that bring hygge, or the feeling of calm, cozy contentment, into every home. Practicing the art of hygge was something I learned from my Danish mormor (grandma) and it’s a tradition I hope to share with all my customers."

Jessica says Hygge Home Goods is committed to sustainability by creating products that are both healthy for consumers and the environment. "All of my products are made with non-toxic and natural plant-based ingredients. I source and process recycled glass and discarded bottles to make each candle container and use as much recycled material as possible. Even my labels are made from recycled paper! Every small batch is blended and poured by hand to create a truly unique product. Thank you for helping the earth and supporting small businesses!"

To recognize World Kindness Day, we're celebrating Anne, a beloved member of our design crew who is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. She often buys flowers to take home for sick friends and neighbors. She brings in zucchini bread, tomato salads, goodies to share. She's got a fabulous laugh. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Anne! We are missing her right now, as she spends winters in the mountains working at a ski resort. We hope she'll be back for Valentine's Day!

Every year around this time, we bring olive trees into the shop as part of our Winter refresh. As a gift, they're a lovely gesture of peace. The intention is to reach out during the holidays, to that lonely neighbor or estranged aunt. After yesterday, you might need one sooner than later.
