Reminder that the first in our series of Master the Dance Floor - ballroom dance workshops is this Saturday, November 16, 2024! This series of Saturday workshops at the Concordia Ballroom will give you the fundamentals you need to dance any style of dance with a partner, including Latin (salsa, bachata, cha cha, tango, rumba), smooth (foxtrot, waltz), swing, two-step, even polka! Each session will provide building blocks on how to move, how to lead and follow, and how to translate music into dance expression. Instructor Eric Hoyer is a professional ballroom dancer with years of teaching experience! Don't miss it!

Saturdays: Nov 16, 2024; Jan 18, Feb 22, March 22, April 5, 2025

Big weekend of dancing coming up at the Concordia Ballroom!

Friday, September 6, 2024 come dance to a band new to the La Crosse area: The Vintage Tones of Spielzeiten Und Pausen from Rochester, MN. They play rock 'n roll and classic sounds of the 50s, 60s, and 70s...think the Beatles, the Everlys, Orbison, Moody Blues, ELO, CCR, Emmy Lou Harris, as well as classic country and rockabilly. The first Friday dance of the fall season! 9/6/24 at 7:30 pm.

Saturday, September 7, 2024 we are hosting a ballroom dance workshop by Eric Hoyer. Kick off your fall by learning to dance!
10 am - East Coast Swing
1 pm - West Coast Swing
3 pm - Foxtrot
No partner needed, beginners welcome! Pay at the door - $30 per person each session; $80 all day (3 sessions!).

Sunday, September 8 - Leather 'n Lace - polka, waltz, foxtrot, swing and old time music - 1-4 pm.

Always a blast to dance in the streets of Winona and the weather looks to be perfect!

JUST 1 MORE DAY!!! Bring your friends and prepare to have a swinging good time tomorrow night from 6-10pm on Third Street in Downtown Winona! 👠👞🙌

The community is invited to a FREE Dance Party thrown by River City Dancers. Dance lessons led by Stan and Molly Breitlow will be from 6-7 pm and non-stop live music from Greg Balfany and members of the La Crosse Jazz Orchestra will run from 7-9 pm. Open dancing in the street will continue on until 10 pm!

The event will be on Third Street at the corner of Center Street (in front of Blooming Grounds Coffee House) and is part of the Winona Main Street Program and Winona Area Chamber of Commerce's "Winona in the Street" summer series.

Volunteers in action! A few dozen older chairs were recovered by a dozen volunteers on Saturday. Among them were Ted Von Uhl, John Worzey, Gordo Pankratz, Judy Anderson, Lori Schmaltz, Patty Becker, Bob and Jenny Heth, Dave Ford, Erik Hoyer, Lillie Kuss, Scott Lind, and most especially, Linda Hilmoe – who planned the work, secured materials and organized the work! The front doors were also adjusted to fit better. There is just some additional weatherstripping and cosmetic work left to do on them. Thanks to all who helped!

What a high energy show last night at the Concordia! The Rockin' Hep Cats really put on a show! Thanks guys for making Saturday night so much fun.

Today from 1-5 the dancing and fun continues at the Concordia Ballroom with Ryan Herman Band. This band has been making music together for years and they love to entertain. Band members are Ryan Herman on keyboards, Denny Marion on lead guitar and pedal steel guitar and Karl Hartwich on concertina or Jerry Dahl on rhythm guitar. You will hear a variety of old time, classic country, and big band numbers that will have you dancing and singing along. They entertain throughout the Midwest and have also strayed occasionally to Colorado and Arizona.
