August was a busy month for events at Daybreak Star. In addition to weddings, meetings and other social gatherings, we hosted Yup'ik carver and painter Jennifer Angaiak Wood for a carving demonstration. Jen's work is now on display in our Sacred Circle Gallery. We also welcomed ANITA (Alaska Native Indigenous Training Academy) for Alaska Days at Daybreak Star, with Tommy G. leading a group in drying and preparing seaweed and salmon. Coming in September: Candlelight Orchestra and The Madrona Project Book reading. Stay tuned for workshops!
